Silent Saturday- Howard County snow day.Snow has not been an issue this Winter in Howard County 2011/2012. Barely any accumulation yet and not one hour of school missed, let alone a full school day.This morning we woke up to a dusting. The roads were perfectly clear and passable. When you go on vacation one is inclined to sign up for tours and excursions that are left up to chance about how good or bad they will be. Nature does not always comply. In Norfolk this Summer, on the East coast of the UK, we went on a "Seal Boat Tour". The expectation was MAYBE to see a seal or two.....if we were lucky.

In the United Kingdom it is very common to see the women guest's at a wedding wearing a hat. It's not required, there does not seem to be a long standing rule, but it is a very normal practice.The first wedding I attended in this Country I stood out like a big sore thumb in my "titfer". (That is cockney rhyming slang for a hat). I was the only one wearing a hat as it seems it is NOT an American tradition. Sales in Anne Arundel County for the month of June 2010 have greatly increased since a year prior, increasing by over 22%. Homes are selling quicker, too, and at a higher average price. Sales also increased compared to last month by over $30 million.
