Let me just come right out and say it: Things happen in life and you feel (spell it) v-i-o-l-a-t-e-d ~ “violated.” Dictionary.com defines violated as: “to break in upon or disturb rudely; interfere thoughtlessly with.” That’s what happened to me when I had my wallet stolen. (Yes, I left it in the glove compartment of my car like I shouldn’t have, but that’s beside the point.) Let's just cut to the chase. We like the old better. Right? We like how we've always done things, the patterns we've set, the routine we've got going ~ regardless of if it's working anymore (bringing in business, helping us to reach a goal, positively enriching our lives). They cooked the books(?). And not only that, they were caught(?). The "they" I'm referring to is the National Association of Realtors. In a statement to Reuters, NAR's spokesman Walter Malony comes out and says it... "All the sales and inventory data that have been reported since January 2007 are being downwardly revised. Sales were weaker than people thought." Huh? As challenging as the real estate market's been, it's even worse? Do you think for yourself? Oh really. You do? I'd like to suggest that many of us don't (who think we do). Many of us don't think for ourselves. We've adopted "group think." (Another way of saying it is "herd mentality.") What I mean is we've really just embraced (like a lover) the thoughts of others (for the most part). Somebody tells us in school.
