wordpress: Why Aren't You Using A Wordpress Blog? - 01/30/11 04:05 PM

Several years ago when I started building Wordpress blogs for real estate, it was very hard to convince clients that "this is the wave of the future." Agents loved their Point2Agent, AdvancedAccess, Z57, OneParkPlace...and on and on...template websites.

The objections were that not a lot of real estate agents were blogging and using this format for their site. Basically, there were not enough results to encourage people to make the move.

Fast forward years later to to 2011...every type of business owner realizes a strong Internet presence is key for survival and even more are acknowledging that blogging … (14 comments)

wordpress: Fixing What I Broke - My Website.... (12 Days of Tips and Tidbits) - 12/16/10 03:10 PM
When I jumped the fence from real estate marketing to Las Vegas real estate agent I wanted to really think my website architecture through and do everything right from the beginning.

DIDN'T HAPPEN!

I threw my website up one weekend and never looked back. I didn't care ...traffic was good, leads were great. In the back of my mind I knew better but kept saying to myself "another day" and well, a lot of those "another days" have gone by.
As you can see from my GA stats below I started from the gate okay (worked on my site … (11 comments)

wordpress: Wordpress SEO Plugin Evaluation (SEOPressor) - Day 1 - 10/07/10 06:00 AM
Today I purchased the plugin that is supposed to help you with your SEO. I have heard a lot of great comments about SEOPressor so I decided to shell out the bucks try it for myself. (Has a money back guarantee.)

Why would I do this with all the other great SEO plugins available? It analyzes each page and post so you can see how to improve each and then gives you powerful tools for search engines to fall in love with your website. Will SEOPressor stand up to it's claim? I am going to find out!

wordpress: How Social Icons Can Make You Laugh - 06/03/10 03:35 AM
Last night I was reviewing a website that I am currently building with a potential client. After going through all the functionality, SEO, etc. she stops me and asks about the buttons in the top right corner. So, I explain they are social networking icons that link to the website owners' different social networking accounts. She then innocently asked "Why do they spell FART?" - - - - wwwwhhhaaaattt?
Oh I see now said the blind man. I am so used to seeing the icons I never think about the letters anymore. They were as follows

wordpress: Wordpress Blogs...Do You Have One? You Should! - 05/19/10 02:10 PM
I am sure everyone has heard by now that Wordpress blogs draw huge traffic compared to websites. And the truth is, they really do.

A client contacted me to do SEO work on her site and I suggested that she should scrap her current site and start over with a WP blog. She didn't want to hear this but it is what I recommended. The site was not a performer and the cost to optimize would have been substantial just for the onsite SEO work.

After a few months I convinced her to let me set up a blog for … (24 comments)

wordpress: WordPress.com vs. WordPress.org.......Wait! ........THERE'S A DIFFERENCE? - 08/15/09 12:46 PM
The Wordpress blogging software is available in two forms.
Wordpress.com is “open source” software (free for anyone to use and modify to meet their personal needs) Since it's free, it does have limitations. Wordpress.org provides the software to create your blog but not the hosting so you will have to load to your current hosting or create a new hosting account (and yes, not all hosting accounts are created equal when it comes to the ease of using the .org software.)
