Appraisals are an undeniably large part of home purchase transactions. If you’re selling a home your Agent and/or Lender will probably insist that you get an appraisal. An appraisal by definition is just “an opinion of the value of your home based on what similar homes in your area have sold for in recent months.” Because the appraisal is essentially a best guess estimate a lot of sellers and buyers wonder what the parameters are for an appraisal.
