real estate: Positive ways of thinking, brings positive results! - 12/20/10 03:58 AM
Positive ways of thinking, brings positive results!
Now I just may be too positive in my thinking, but I've been saying all along, when asked how is real estate doing right now?  My response is, "Gee, not real good at this time, BUT it is going to pick up soon"!            Well, am I the only positive thinker out there?  It seems the only positive things that I see on TV and in the paper are how well the sales are for the holiday season this year.       Could it be that there is … (3 comments)

real estate: Daylight Savings time versus Standard Time!!! - 11/08/10 03:27 AM
Daylight Savings time versus Standard Time!!!  To change or not to change, that is the question???  OK, there is much ado about this time change.  I, for one, do not like it getting dark before 5pm in the evening.  I suffer from the blues pretty quickly in the winter months if I do not keep busy.  This is because of the darkness, (I am told).  I truly do not understand why we keep falling back in the fall.  I honestly believe we should keep the Daylight Savings Time enabled all year long.
According to http://www.webexhibits.org/daylightsaving/e.html Daylight Savings time was formally adopted … (0 comments)

real estate: Wouldn't it be wonderful if we could all go paperless! - 11/04/10 04:44 AM
Wouldn't it be wonderful if we could all go paperless!  Just imagine all the trees that we would save.  I have written before about how I am going paperless, but most of this business still hasn't allowed it.  Unfortunately, even though I bought a tablet computer, joined docusign, have a great backup system in place and paid dearly for a great scanner, I cannot get past the paper trail.                                                                          My dream is to go out and meet clients with my tablet computer, wireless card & my smile.  No paper to waste.  Quoting Jim Cronin, http://realestatetomato.typepad.com/the_real_estate_tomato/2007/01/going_paperless.html , Can movement towards a … (3 comments)

real estate: What is a Short Sale? - 10/18/10 11:26 AM
When you are interested in a short sale listed home there are a few things a prospective buyer should know. A property listed as a short sale is a home owner that is (as we like to put it) upside down in their investment.  I found many descriptions as follows:
•·         In finance, short selling (also known as shorting or going short) is the practice of selling assets, usually securities, that have been borrowed from a third party (usually a broker) with the intention of buying identical assets back at a later date to return to the lender. ...en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Short-sale
