horseshoes: The Grand Kids have Arrived from Canada - 03/02/14 04:04 AM
My daughter Nicole and the Grand kids arrived Friday night from Canada and Grandpa is already worn out!  Below is a collage of older photos, including my niece Katie but there will lots more new ones posted soon. They are at the beach as I write this and I have slow cooked pulled pork in the crock pot. I made blueberry pancakes Sat AM and then it was off to Jumps TinyTavern in Cocoa Beach for horseshoes at 2:00. Me and "Wave Dave" went to the final and smoked some really good teams but Boston and Alvin got us in the end winning two out … (6 comments)

horseshoes: Throwing "SHOES" is a Great way to Relax after a Busy Week - 01/13/14 03:03 AM
Paco and I came in 3rd at the Jump's Tiny Tavern Sat. horseshoe tournament after winning 3 in a row but we fell short against the 2 teams that ended up in the final. I threw 4 six packs (back to back ringers) and Paco played great. There's always next week and more things to do and see in Cocoa Beach! Bring your camera. BTW - This photo was taken with my Galaxy S4 cell phone!

horseshoes: The Canadian Connection Horseshoe Champs in Cocoa Beach, Florida - 03/06/13 11:47 PM
Wayne and I won the Jump's Tiny Tavern Horseshoe Tournament on Wed. After losing the first game, we went undefeated with a few nail biters along the way. We were both born and raised in Ontario, Canada. Wayne is from Niagara Falls and I'm from the Toronto area. There are no easy games here and if you don't throw ringers, you lose! It's a lot of fun and a great way to unwind after a busy day selling Real Estate. Although it was a little chilly, the temps are supposed to go back up into the 80's just in time for … (10 comments)

horseshoes: Gino's Annual Horseshoe Invitational Florida Christmas Tournament - 12/17/12 12:12 AM
Every year Gino and Jump's Tiny Tavern in Cocoa Beach, Fl. sponsor a Christmas Horseshoe Tournament. The competition is fierce and Tom's BBQ is excellent as always! Everyone brought sides and there was a real sense of community with lots of Christmas spirit. I was voted MVP!

Gino, Susan and Boston. Gino and Boston won the tournament.

Teddy and I won second place in a tough group of players. Ted is the kind of guy that would give you the shirt off his back if you needed it. Just look into his eyes and you can tell how big … (10 comments)

horseshoes: Another Great Week End in Cocoa Beach, Florida. Three Birthdays, Good Music and a Sense of Community. - 12/04/11 06:55 PM
Horseshoe buddies Frank, Boston and Steve all celebrated their birthdays Sat. Dec. 3rd at Jump's Tiny Tavern in Cocoa Beach. We played horseshoes all afternoon and then listened to a great band called "Redneck Joe". Life is good!

Birthday Boy Frank with Redneck Joe.

Redneck Joe (formerly Troublesome Creek) opened for Ronnie Hawkins years ago and is still going strong today.

The Dave Kury Band played at Friday Fest in Cape Canaveral. There is always great music at this event and a sense of community that is hard to find these days. It's a wonderful place to meet … (11 comments)

horseshoes: Video - Come Fly with "Holiday" the Macaw in Cocoa Beach! - 09/01/11 09:17 AM
Newsflash: Holiday has been found and returned to owners Tom and Cathy. He was only a few blocks away and a lady who saw my Craig's List Ad knew where he lived. The naughty bird is now back in his cage and will have his wings clipped next week. "Holiday" the Macaw gives us quite a show on top of his cage. His wings are not clipped and he sometimes flies into the palm trees to escape aggressive feral cats but he can take care of himself. They give him his space for the most part. Holiday is owned by Tom, … (14 comments)

horseshoes: Speechless Sundays - The Horseshoe Kings of Cocoa Beach - 07/10/11 03:29 PM
Another great Saturday at Jump’s Tiny Tavern in Cocoa Beach.
Tom and I won the horseshoe tournament and then I won the ringer tournament right afterwards. I shot 5 ringers out of 8 shoes and won this special one time trophy. There was a total of 18 really good players and everyone had a great time as always. It’s the best entertainment around for 5 bucks! My wife said my computer area is starting to look like a “Man Cave” with all the hockey stuff and now a trophy ;-)

There is a horseshoe tournament every Saturday at 2 pm at Jump's Tiny Tavern in Cocoa Beach. It's a great way to spend a sunny afternoon and the beach is just minutes away. Owners Angel and Steve make sure everyone is happy and quite often the regulars bring in crock pot delights with nachos. Mike's is a favorite tasty treat. Bartender Cheryl buys pizza many times to thank her customers and Angel is always making sure everything runs smoothly. Welcome to "CHEERS" Cocoa Beach style.

Even if you don't participate, It's a great spectator sport with lot's of thrills and … (12 comments)

horseshoes: In Both Real Estate and Horseshoes You Have to be Good to be Lucky and Lucky to be Good! - 07/25/10 06:18 AM
We all had a good time at the Jump's Tiny Tavern Horseshoe Tournament in Cocoa beach on Saturday but the heat kept a lot of regulars from showing up. The one thing I've noticed that stands out is that no one has anything negative to say. Your opponent is cheering you on to get that big ringer (even though they hope you don't :-). Everyone is competitive but no one has an attitude and I think that's a good way to be if you're a Realtor as well. Nice guys DO finish first in my book!

horseshoes: Wordless Wednesday - The Horseshoe Kings of Cocoa Beach - 06/30/10 04:11 PM
That's Steve, Scotty and Tom getting ready to throw some shoes with me.

I just finished my bike ride and decided to throw some practice shoes when the "Horseshoe Kings" wanted to play a game. I found my range tonight and Scotty and I won after a see-saw battle :-). Good times, good people, what more can you ask for?

Cocoa Beach has such an eclectic mix of people that all seem to get along simply because they are "Beach People". Home prices are excellent right now and it's a great time to be a buyer!!

horseshoes: Cocoa Beach Localism - Jump's Tiny Tavern is Where "Everybody Knows Your Name" - 06/18/10 04:28 PM

As most of my AR friends know, I ride my bike for about an hour every day and I've added a new twice a week (or more) stop to my schedule. Jump's Tiny Tavern in Cocoa Beach is a cross between Cheers and your typical Florida beachside watering hole and "Bad Attitudes" are not welcome! The beach is only a 5 minute walk if you feel like catching the ocean breeze with your honey after a Corona. It's a nice alternative to the commercialism of the Cocoa Beach Pier just down the road.

There are a lot of friendly, … (12 comments)
