Yes! It is that time a year again and this Sunday, 9/15, West Chester Recreation presents
The 34th Annual Chester County
Restaurant Festival!!

There will be at least 50 restaruants represented and if you don't find something ownderful to eat, you do not have taste buds! Arts and Crafts, live music, lots of fun.
Simply one of the most fun events in this great town.

The 10th Annual West Chester Rotary Chili Cook-off!!!
October 14, 2012
Presenters will arrive earlier but they will start serving chili at 12 Noon. This is fun family event with lots of things to do for everyone. You can go to the link above and get discounted tickets up to the day of the event. You can buy an armband on the day of the cook-off as well. $10 to taste unlimited amounts of chili! Vote for your favorites!

The 33rnd CHESTER COUNTY RESTAURANT FESTIVAL 9/16/12 FROM NOON UNTIL 5:30.
Come to DOWNTOWN WEST CHESTER on 9/16/12, noon through 5:30 PM and enjoy a taste of some of the best food our area has to offer. The festival is expanding this year and spilling over from High and Gay Streets, onto Darlington and Market Street! This is a free event. The rain date is 9/23 but I'm hoping for wonderful weather.
There will be 60 plus restaurant and food vendors, crafters and bands with a Beer and Wine Garden on Church Street. My favorite Restaurant, Limoncello Ristorante, will once again be participating!

Come into West Chester tonight and enjoy First Friday! Stores will be open late all metered parking is free after 12 today! Woo hoo!
You'll want to check out the Vintage Garage Sale, stop in at the Chester County Historical Society and get a bite to eat at one of the wonderful restaurants in Downtown West Chester.

Starting tomorrow, December 1, West Chester Borough will be putting on the Ritz... or should I say, putting on the Old-Fashioned Christmas that they have become famous for! On Thursday, December 1, at 7:30 PM, there's an Old-Fashioned Christmas Concert performed by the West Chester Area School District's Select Strings at the Church of the Holy Trinity, located at 212 S. High Street. Also on the 1st, at 8:00 PM there's Trial by Jury and Carol Singing at the Chester County Justice Center, Courtroom 1, located at 201 W. Market Street. Tonight is the first Swingin' Summer Thursday of the season in West Chester! The weather today is nothing short of spectacular so being outside tonight will be a wonderful time! I'm not going to speak about market conditions, good or bad news, interest rates or anything other than this. There are currently 169 listings for sale in East Goshen Township. Some are absolutely wonderful. Some are just okay. Some, well, there are so many to choose from, we won't worry about those.
The township website tells us that East Goshen is 10 square miles and 16,877 folks live here. My family of 4 included. The website also tells us that the average price of a home is $350,000. I think that's a low average, but we have quite a few townhouse … (8 comments)

Yippee! First Friday in May is upon us and the shops in Downtown West Chester are going to be open late having lots of special events. Click here for a list of shops that are participating.
If you wander into town early, remember that the Chester County Historical Society is open free to the public the first Friday of every month from 10 to 5!

West Chester has many lovely parks. I was driving past one today and simply had to stop and take some photos. Everhart Park is located at the intersection of West Union Street and S. Brandywine Avenue, south of W. Miner. This Sunday, 5/1/11 from 11 to 4, happens to be the Festival of the Arts.
This is a gorgeous park, in full springtime bloom! Look at these photos and you'll realize why I had to pull over. It's simply gorgeous.

We have been deluged with snow this year. Early yesterday morning and all through the day and night it snowed like crazy here, dumping hundreds of inches of snow on Chester County. Okay, maybe it wasn't hundreds of inches but it was at least a foot of snow and being stuck in the house doesn't exactly make me feel thankful. I'm pretty much a homebody but I want the choice of going somewhere. When the choice is taken away, I can't stand to be home!

In the fall of last year and through the holidays my office participated in a group food drive to benefit The Chester County Food Cupboard. I dropped the food off just after the first of the year and got a lovely letter from the woman who runs this worthy charity. There are many people who are struggling right now and seniors are a huge group. Many are on fixed incomes and the cost of their medication often exceeds that income. This leaves little or no money for food. In addition to seniors there are many struggling families who simply can not put food on … (4 comments)

I have really started to enjoy sitting open houses. This house is really a warm and cozy home with a fireplace in the living room, a dining room, new granite counters in the kitchen and a family room on the first floor. There's an extra large deck for entertaining friends and family and tons of extra parking out back for visitors. I will be holding this great house open today, 1/23/11 from 1 to 3.
