Inspired by Pinterest we (husband Tim and I) would make holiday door tags on the occasion of one of our friends new home purchase (yes, I was the Realtor) . We used some of the wood that we had left over from our office wall project. Tim quickly cut the size and shape. Unbeknownst to me Tim used red spray paint on the door tags. Every year around Christmas I yearn for the traditional European Christmas Markets from my youth. I have long given up on finding what I remember...let's face it...it's not Germany and that's ok. So I take what comes close - like the Denver Christmas Christmas Market that was really fun last year. The city of Denver has done a great job and I am looking forward to going this year again. When I grew up in Germany, I could hardly wait to get my advents calendar ever end of November. Starting December 1st I would make a beeline every morning to it, to see what chocolate design I would discover. When my kids were born my best friend in Germany made 24 little cloth bags for me that I could fill for my children every year.That was 18 years ago. Recently I was inspired by this photo on Pinterest to make some sort of seasons greetings for a large empty wall space in my house. I am not much of an instruction reader so I determined that I could use some small canvas frames that I had recently bought on sale, some of my kids' poster paint and painters tape. Our friend is currently stationed overseas with the Armed Forces, he is a pilot. I am so glad that he is returning home soon. This morning we received this message from him and I was so touched. 'Tis the season....for Christmas Cards and Newsletters. Since the dawn of Facebook, where your friends or your customers can keep up with you on a daily basis, you would think a Christmas Newsletter has become obsolete. Not really so, there is nothing like receiving letters in the mail, tearing up the envelopes and reading the greetings from friends and acquaintances maybe next to the fireplace with a cup of hot tea.
