The last weekend in June we spent in Breckenridge. On our way 'out' we stopped at a trailhead that we had heard about from other folks. It was quite rainy, we were tight on time and my friend wore flipflops so we decided to drive up the road instead of hiking the trail. McCullough Gulch Trail lies in the shadow of 14er Quandary Peak. outdoors: Family goes rock climbing in Castlewood Park, near Denver

Our family absolutely loves the fact that all the outdoor activities that we all love to do are close by. There are some restriction in abilities, but the options that we have to still make it work are great. Take Castlewood Canyon State Park near Denver with a great beginner and advance climbing area. Here is some info about the routes to climb. For the kids it was the first experience outdoors WITH safety equipment. Usually, we simply boulder. It was a challenge and they loved every minute of it. Last week we have gotten more than a foot of snow here in Colorado Springs. This inspired my husband and I to pack up the Canon 7D camera and go for a Night-Snowshoe-Hike.
