Ocala's Thoroughbred horse farms enjoyed a successful June Sale at Ocala Breeders Sales Co. ("OBS") last Tuesday. The June sale was the Two-Year-Old Sale at "OBS" (located on Airport Road). Some of the photos I took at the sale are in the slideshow, which I hope you enjoy. Results of the sale can be found here. The next Thoroughbred sale at OBS is in August. This pretty little 'chocolate' colt caught my eye Friday afternoon while I was looking around at the different horse properties and farm properties in Maggie Valley. The Crabtree area of Haywood County has more beautiful farms decorated with horses and cattle than Maggie Valley does, so this handsome guy surprised me since he wasn't too far from the Festival Grounds in the heart of Maggie Valley.

Visiting friends in the country is always a treat for me, especially when they have horses. George and Sheila Mills have a beautiful home and a barn (which they built before the house!), and a pasture with 4 gentle, well taken care of horses out in the Clyde/Crabtree area here in the mountains of Western North Carolina. George is a realtor here in Haywood County, and since I was visiting to talk about Social Media, I'm hoping to get him to sign up on Active Rain. Surrounded by sweeping views and dramatic peaks, The Preserve at Little Pine is an 1,800-acre community, with a staffed Equestrian Center, perched high atop the Blue Ridge Mountains. Margie Casey and I spent a few hours touring ‘Little Pine’ Saturday, and pictures can best describe the beauty of the property. The DIY Blog Cabin at Little Pine is progressing, including the tree house, and the Grassland Mountain Lodge, at 4,200 feet, is going to be spectacular when it is finished.
