marketing: G-Rated Tools To Feed My Constant Cravings. - 06/28/10 04:24 AM
This is not a brand new tool, but I just stumbled into it early this morning. My first video below was a 'quickie' but as time goes by this morning, I continue to think of many different uses for Google Search Stories. Adding interest to my blog is always appealing to me.
It's no secret I am a huge Twitter fan (because of learning so much more on Twitter than anywhere else). My 5 new Twitterface pages (link takes you to the 5 live links) are used to promote horses, Ocala, provide live-feed Kentucky Derby tweets, etc., and to add interest. … (3 comments)

marketing: How to Buy a Bank-Owned Home. - 11/01/09 03:53 AM

Wanted to post this video in the event you haven't seen it. Broker Bryant might appreciate it.

No matter where you look these days, there's an abundance of talk today about the 'new' ways to market ... whether you sell toys, cars, real estate, or social media consulting. This sign is on a building on a creek in Maggie Valley, and it tells of a time gone by in the world of real estate.

marketing: Couldn't Have Said It Better Myself! - 09/03/09 05:44 AM
It appears the author of this great post has experienced the same frustrations and amazement as I have! My hat is off to you Bob Haywood! You can take a horse to water but you can't make him drink.
The title of Bob's post (reblogged below) is:
Why I'm Kicking Your Butt In Selling Real Estate.
DISCLAIMER:  THIS IS FICTIONAL AND SATIRICAL.
It is not a first hand account of my personal real estate business nor is directed at any real person in any way.  It is designed to prod anyone in any industry who is losing business but refuses … (8 comments)

marketing: My Social Media Business Card by Card.ly ... With Google Analytics. - 08/09/09 05:21 AM
It's Sexy Sunday .. oh, I'm on Active Rain so I guess I should say it's Speechless Sunday... but I just can't get into Speechless.
Here's another 'new' toy which I really like a good bit and wanted to share, although I only recently set up my profile so am still a 'novice,' with fine tuning (and Google Analytics) yet to be done to my 'On-line Social Media Business Card (by Card.ly).

marketing: The Headwaters at Banner Elk, Blowing Rock, Blowing Rock Equestrian Preserve - Alive, Thriving in WNC. - 07/19/09 10:19 PM
Impressive is the best way to describe the Banner Elk/Blowing Rock area of Western North Carolina. Wow. Progressive with a capital P. If I didn't have very special plans at The Swag on Wednesday, I would be heading to the horse show in Blowing Rock.
A few days ago I wrote about the tour of The Headwaters at Banner Elk that Margie Casey and I enjoyed last week:

marketing: Sex in This Mountain Home is So Good Even the Neighbors Have a Cigarette! - 12/10/08 04:23 AM
Isn't the sex appeal of a home something to be considered, along with the stainless steel appliances, mood lighting, and views... if the truth be told? Realtors, Real Estate, and Fluff. Reading real estate blogs every day can be incredibly interesting and informative. It can also be repetitious, canned and BORING. What do we REALLY have, and need, to offer our clients, considering that our closely-hoarded information has been disseminated all over the internet, as well it should be.
What information do you look for when you visit my, and other, real estate blogs? I don't WANT to 'capture' you - … (5 comments)

marketing: Real Estate Section of the Los Angeles Times is Devoured by the Internet. - 08/04/08 11:04 AM

Wow. The well-publicized effects of the present real estate market, coupled with the rapidly changing internet and its effects on the business of real estate and marketing, have brought about major layoffs and changes at The Los Angeles Times, including the cessation of the publication of the weekly Real Estate Section. Inman News just reported:
"The Times has ceased publication of its weekly real estate section -- born more than a century ago -- amid major staff cuts. In mid-July, newspaper managers began to carry out the "largest staff and production cuts in the newspaper's history," according to an … (3 comments)

marketing: Twitterholics Anonymous. - 06/15/08 06:34 AM
Twitter is addictive. I lurk for the most part, but am already addicted to @guykawasaki, @respres, @npr, etc., etc. If you like keeping up with what's going on out there, keep Twitter in your sidebar and just 'listen.' But beware, this could be you!

marketing: EDGEIO is out... Enter HGTV! - 12/07/07 10:36 PM
While perusing my feeds, WSJ on line, etc., etc., this morning, I noticed articles about the shut down/closing of Edgeio, which led to the article about the closing of CompUSA.  while not quite so relevant , interesting at best.
My seat partner on a recent flight back to North Carolina from the NAR Convention in Vegas happened to be an employee of the HGTV network so the story about HGTV was of interest to me, and I hope it is to you as well.
There sure is a lot to keep up with these days, in every aspect of our business.  It is … (0 comments)
