social media: Couldn't Have Said It Better Myself! - 09/03/09 05:44 AM
It appears the author of this great post has experienced the same frustrations and amazement as I have! My hat is off to you Bob Haywood! You can take a horse to water but you can't make him drink.
The title of Bob's post (reblogged below) is:
Why I'm Kicking Your Butt In Selling Real Estate.
DISCLAIMER:  THIS IS FICTIONAL AND SATIRICAL.
It is not a first hand account of my personal real estate business nor is directed at any real person in any way.  It is designed to prod anyone in any industry who is losing business but refuses … (8 comments)

social media: Panacea Coffeehouse, Cafe & Roastery in Waynesville ... Perfect Place to Drink Coffee and Network. - 08/23/09 08:43 PM
Panacea Coffeehouse, Cafe & Roastery is a great, convenient, not to mention aromatic, place in the Frog Level part of Waynesville to meet up with friends, family or new ‘peeps’ from  Twitter. The address is 66 Commerce Street, Waynesville.
Wayne Porter, who I met on Twitter, invited me to a networking get-together at Panacea last week, so I met new people from here in Haywood County, and also new friends from the Asheville area – - in real life.

Looking forward to the next meeting.

social media: You Might Be Addicted to Social Media If You Only Know Your Friends By Their Twitter Addresses. - 08/14/09 11:29 PM
What does Social Media have to do with real estate?
Everything!
Social Media and technology are changing at the speed of light. Every single day there are new things to learn, use, and apply in my business. Hmmm, do I want to practice foreclosures and short-sales [NO!] or learn more about social media, technology and marketing to enhance what I offer my clients? Social Media allows me to ENGAGE with my readers, Twitter friends, business friends, realtor-friends, Facebook friends, etc. Social Media allows my clients, readers, friends, business associates, and potential clients to get to know me and to engage with … (6 comments)

social media: My Social Media Business Card by Card.ly ... With Google Analytics. - 08/09/09 05:21 AM
It's Sexy Sunday .. oh, I'm on Active Rain so I guess I should say it's Speechless Sunday... but I just can't get into Speechless.
Here's another 'new' toy which I really like a good bit and wanted to share, although I only recently set up my profile so am still a 'novice,' with fine tuning (and Google Analytics) yet to be done to my 'On-line Social Media Business Card (by Card.ly).
TechCrunch wrote about Card.ly back in July - read their Card.ly post here.

social media: Visible Tweets ... Could Be Fun! - 05/05/09 11:50 PM

Here's something new (to me) that I stumbled into yesterday on Twitter (I used #realestate for the example on the link below):
Visible Tweets
Visible Tweets, of course, is Twitter-based, and "is a visualization of Twitter messages designed for display in public spaces."
Twitter isn't for everyone, and certainly much more than a public display opportunity, but here's an interesting article for those who remain curious: The Promise of Twitter.

social media: Marketing Nuggets Via Jonathan Gunson's Traffic Cafe, Featuring Seesmic's Loic. - 05/02/09 11:35 PM
Mentor to the masses and a virtual friend of mine, Jonathan Gunson, creator of The Traffic Cafe, has outdone himself with this Traffic Cafe program featuring Loic of Seesmic. Jonathan and Loic discuss Seesmic, Twitter and Facebook;  i.e., social media. The New York Times wrote about Loic and Seesmic (now adding Facebook) in yesterday’s (May 2) edition, which you may read here.

social media: Barrell Racers Are Better Than Bull Riders Because They Ride Twice As Long. - 11/14/08 09:21 PM
The older I get, and the more social media I become involved in, the less time I have or want to waste. Time is precious and valuable, and is taking me to places I can't wait to get to.  For instance, I just looked at the fire in the distance outside Jeff Turner's house in real time!
