The fireworks will launch from Toyota Stadium, after 7:30 p.m.
 
 
Kaboom Town at Addison Circle Park - July 3
Admission is free but traffic in and out of Addison is going to be hectic. Capacity is going to be limited, so try to show up early. The show begins around 9:30 p.m..

collin county: Richardson, Texas - Housing Statistic November 2017 - 01/16/18 02:54 PM

Richardson is one of the cities in Dallas Metro that has been experiencing a tremendous growth, especially after State Farm elected this city as it’s hub.   Richardson median home price jumped from $271,000 in November 2016 to a whopping $306,000 in November 2017.  There is no home under $150k, and most homes are in the price range between $201k - $500k. Average days on the market is about a month regardless of the price of the home.

collin county: Collin County Market Statistic - November 2017 - 12/22/17 12:26 PM

Collin County continues to be in a hot seller’s market. Year to date average sales price increases 6.5% and closed sales increases 4.5%.  Days on the market increases as well from 35 days in 2016 to 40 days in 2017.  Even with this 5 days increase, it is still very well in seller’s market. Months supply of inventory is still very low at 2.6.

collin county: Collin County - October 2017 Housing Market Statistic - 11/19/17 08:48 AM

Median sales price in Collin County in October 2017 increased almost 6% compared to October 2016.  The market is showing a little bit of a slow down with days on the market increased to 47 days from 38 days and an increased in inventory and supply as well.  YTD Percent of original list price received dropped 0.6%.  Overall it is still a very healthy seller’s market with YTD median sales price increased of 8.4%.

Collin County continues to be a hot seller’s market.  Sales price continues to climb with median sales price increased almost 7% in September 2017 compared to September 2016.  Year to date median sales price increased 7.5% and days on the market is about 41 days. Closed sales in September  2017 dropped about 11% compared to September 2016 but year to date closed sales increased almost 5%.

Collin County continues to be a hot seller’s market.  Median sales price increased 6.2% in August 2017 compared to August 2016 and year to date sales price increased 10%.  Days on the market is about one month. Closed sales increased almost 3% in August 2017 compared to August 2016 and year to date closed sales increased more than 7%.

Statistics released in May by the U.S. Census Bureau shows that that six of the 15 fastest growing cities are in Texas, two are in Florida, and one each in Tennessee and South Carolina. The remaining fastest growing cities are in Idaho, Oregon, Arizona, Utah, and Iowa.
 
Two of the 15 fastest shrinking cities are in Oklahoma, while the remaining 13 cities are in different states in nearly every region of the country. While fast-growing cities tend to have strong economies and affluent residents, most of the shrinking cities tend to have relatively low median household incomes.

Many cities in North Dallas rank as some of the best places in the country for first-time homebuyers, according to a new report by WallettHub.com.  In fact four of our cities, McKinney, Frisco, Allen, and Richardson rank as top 10 best places for first time home buyers. These cities are experiencing one of the hottest housing markets in the country, with record home sales and the highest volume of new home starts in the country.  But prices also hit an all-time high, making it harder for first-time buyers.  However, compared to many other markets, these cities are still a bargain.

        Texas will become the 47th state to have a statewide ban on texting while driving. 
        Local police officers can inquire about the immigration of people they legally detain or arrest. 
        People will be able to carry bowie knives, swords, and machetes in public. 
        Under a new law that passed with broad bipartisan support, students who witness and report a sexual assault while they are involved in illegal activity, such as drinking, would be given amnesty.

A LOT IN A FEW - Of the 524 bank failures that have occurred in the USA during the 10 years ending 6/30/17, more than half have occurred in just 4 states.  51% of the total bank failures (269) have taken place in Georgia (92), Florida (72), Illinois (65) and California (40).  9 US states had zero bank failures in the last 10 years (source: Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation).

Allen housing market for second quarter 2017 continuously shows a very strong seller's market.  On average homes are sold 0.5% more than list price.  Median sales price leaped to $340,000 compared to $317,000 same period last year. 
Inventory is less than 3 months for homes under $500,000, and 6 months for homes above $750,000. Most homes in Allen are in the $300,000 - $500,000 range.
