croton on hudson: The House Whisperer ( or the long title of how I made 2 couples very happy in Croton on Hudson - 09/16/11 01:55 AM
Sometimes it only takes a few minutes.

Sometimes it’s a gut feeling from simply seeing a photo sent over by Iphone.

Yet, when a buyer knows it’s the home for them, they start getting that fall in love, heart pounding, stomach a flurrie buzzy feeling, and of how this is the perfect home for them and even, momentarily, believing in that old cliché of American dream. It’s the truth; I am not getting carried away here. And, it’s a nice feeling buying into the American dream even if it’s just for a moment.
Though, occasionally, I’m the one … (3 comments)

croton on hudson: Follow up to 9/11 Memorial in Croton on Hudson - 08/01/11 07:06 AM
I hope you have read my former post 9/11 Memorial Croton Landing and see the importance of the funds that need to be raised. Well, it got me thinking what can I do? The 10 year anniversary is upon us, and it's embedded in our souls, whether a NY'er of not, you understand the need to never forget. The building of this memorial right at Croton landing will be just that, a dedication to the lost lives and all the families affected by that tragic day and the days that followed. The Memorial will also honor first and second responders and … (3 comments)

croton on hudson: 9/11 Remembrance Memorial at Croton Landing - 06/14/11 02:41 PM
This September marks the 10th anniversary of 9/11, a day that is burned in our memory. The day started out as a beautiful and sunny September day, and soon became a nightmare to all Americans fraught with sadness. I have written before regarding the Cortlandt 9/11 committee and their efforts to bring a memorial together with the steel we commissioned from the World Trade Center Memorial Post 11/2010
The Committee who is bringing this together, and Janet Meiniero, with whom I recently met, and who has spearheaded the Foundation of the Buchanon-Cortlandt-Croton on Hudson 9/11 Remembrance Memorial at Croton Landing. Ms … (3 comments)

croton on hudson: Free Yoga Event for Pink Ribbon survivors in Croton on Hudson - 05/13/11 01:45 AM
A good friend of mine, Elisha Simpson, is giving back to our community by creating this event for breast cancer survivors, please pass info on to anyone you feel is in need. It could be my age, but I know too many women i n the past few years that have had to accept and deal with this cancer. Its scary, indeed, but knowing there are many in the community fighting the same fight can be so supportive, for only women who have been touched by this can only really know. More info? croton on hudson: How much is walkability worth? - 04/16/11 04:58 AM
I came across a very cool site I would like to share with you, and something I will share with potential clients. It’s called WalkScore.com, you type in any address and it tells you how “walkable” an address is to a restaurants, parks, transportation etc etc. Often, I have buyers call me, especially folks wanting to move to the Croton on Hudson area, asking if a home is in walking distance to town and school. With Earth Day upon us, and our communities becoming more and more aware of the environmental impact of automobile use, and how the use of biking … (22 comments)

croton on hudson: Croton on Hudson 9/11 Memorial - 11/12/10 01:34 AM

Croton on Hudson, NY: Croton Landing, a beautiful riverfront park, has been selected  as the memorial site to honor four local residents who died on 9/11, emergency responders, and the many impacted by this day. Croton Landing is a beautiful and tranquil location right on the Hudson River, on a clear day you can see the Manhattan skyline, I see it as a perfect spot for such a significant memorial.
The committee who is bringing this about are Linda D. Puglisi, Supervisor of the Town of Cortlandt,Sean Murray, Mayor of the Village of Buchanan, Leo A.  Wiegman, Mayor of the … (3 comments)

croton on hudson: Croton's Collaborative Garden - 08/10/10 02:13 PM
This year I never got around to planning or planting a vegetable garden simply because I have been so damn busy and my husband simply wasn't feelin' it. Luckily for me, due to the lack of rain and mandatory limited use of water, I didn't have the disappointment and frustration others have experienced with their vegetable gardens.  I am going to come clean and mention the handful of times I did water (with guilt!) my butterfly garden and the recently planted shrubs I have in front of my home. I also will share with you I do have well water but … (5 comments)

croton on hudson: Zen and life in Croton on Hudson - 05/27/10 03:06 PM
One of the ways for me to "keep it together" and live a more balanced life is running in the woods. Between the everyday nuances of having a child, a home, and business as a Realtor, running in nature helps me put it all in perspective.  Living in Croton on Hudson for the past 9 years has given me the opportunity to go off road, whether running or biking. When I lived in NYC, and having  passion for these sports(as well as inline skating)  it was easily fulfilled in Central Park, where I lived near and became a backyard of sorts … (2 comments)
