ny: Thinking about a move to Peekskill, NY 10566?
- 09/19/11 03:41 AM
I just listed a charming home in the very cool city of Peekskill. My love for older homes, gastronomy and local history is sated here in Peekskill; put me down at the river at sunset, with a bottle of red, and I am quite satisfied. As I was driving home last night from a new listing at 311 Depew Street, one of those charmed filled colonials Peekskill is known for, and hey, by the way, did you know Depew Street is named after Chauncey Depew a US Senator in the 1860’s? Well, it got me thinking about what is so great (3 comments)
ny: Peekskill, and Westchester County 4th of July Celebrations!
- 06/22/11 05:47 AM
The past two years I have celebrated the 4th of July at the Peekskill Riverfront and had a blast with friends and friends of friends. Several of us got there a bit early to secure a spot near the river for perfect viewing and a breeze to take the edge off the heat. Last year's evening was hastily put together with emails, texts, and who is bringing what....you should have seen the spread of culinary delights! Some cleverly took the train from Croton, and others, like me, drove, either way whoever got there first staked out the spot for all. The (2 comments)

- 04/07/11 08:11 AM
More and more I see signs of green consciousness and though its been a gradual shift it is gathering momentum. The positive effects of developing sustainability are about preserving our enviroment that are long lasting, and it benefits all. The need is so great and it must be a collaborative effort, globally and locally, and it starts right here at home. This morning I was present at our monthly Hudson Valley Gateway Chamber breakfast meeting held at the Cortlandt Town Hall. The topic, Going Green, was presented by representatives from NWEAC (Northern Westchester Energy Action Consortium) and officials from local municipalities (2 comments)

ny: 2010 Reality and the Market
- 07/14/10 02:33 AM
Reality is your home is much more than just an investment, it's a way of life, you choose the quality of your life by the choices you make. Besides taxes, the only other certainty is change. First time buyers with decent credit, it's time to stop deliberating "should I continue to rent or should I buy?"; if you have a secure job, a down payment and decent credit this is the moment in time when you buy a home. Rates are very attractive and home prices are so sharp you will pat yourself on the back when thinking of your home (1 comments)

ny: Pricing is Everything
- 02/20/10 08:16 AM
Selling your home in today's market takes some solid pricing strategy; pricing it sharp will get you the maximum amount, less hassle, and it will sell in good time. I don't want to sound like a doomsayer, and those who know me know that is not the case, but the facts are facts; the longer your home stays on the market, you might as well say good bye to thousands of dollars. The serious buyers out there today have done their homework, have seen many homes and will know what your home is worth. Once a home has been on the (2 comments)
