The past two years I have celebrated the 4th of July at the Peekskill Riverfront and had a blast with friends and friends of friends. Several of us got there a bit early to secure a spot near the river for perfect viewing and a breeze to take the edge off the heat. Last year's evening was hastily put together with emails, texts, and who is bringing what....you should have seen the spread of culinary delights! Just a reminder to let you know that the filing period for grieving the property taxes on a property located in Westchester Towns and most Cities starts next week! If you have been mulling this over or have a plan in place, this is the time whether commercial or residential So if you know any property owners (residential or commercial) who may be interested in reducing their property taxes, and you need a tax certiorari call me if for a referral.<p>
Typically, a tax certiorari will do a free initial analysis to determine if there is a case for reduction, and fees are contingent upon the outcome.<p>

Your home is on the market or about to be, your broker suggests a public open house, and panic sets in. As a broker I always give pointers and tips on what could be done to have a successful open house with buyers who will want to return for a second showing..and that is key, second showings.

If you read about the housing market as I do, it shows stagnancy and shouts gloominess, yet looking at statistics and economist views, the NY metro area is holding its own. Today Westchester County released the 2011 budget and slashed the Hilltop Hanover Farm and Environmental Center's to just $200,000, resulting in the elimination of half the permanent workforce (two of the four), the entirety of the seasonal staff, and 100 percent of their operating budget. Hilltop Hanover Farm in Yorktown is a sustainable living education center and working farm of over 18- acres, and with a network of hiking trails in over a hundred acres of forest, and owned by Westchester County.
