active rain: Getting to Know Me - Active Rain May Challenge - 05/23/22 01:52 PM
I was browsing blog posts today and ran across Alan May's May Challenge, which ultimately led me to here. The original rules are here if you'd like to "play"!
What was your first job and what did you learn from it?
At 16 years old, for two weeks, I picked daffodils in the beautiful, wet, drizzly and cold Puyallup, WA valley and learned that I'd just about do anything else. Despite the wet and my sore back and the mud...Daffodils are still my favorite, cheery flower.  Shortly after I began at McDonalds where I worked for two years and rose to … (9 comments)

active rain: Updating Your Profile, Bananas, & Meet-Ups -- Love the Rain! - 08/21/17 10:08 AM
Got a nice reminder today to do a little profile updating from one Anna Banana, aka Anna Banana Kruchten,CRS,CRB,GRI
Anna Banana Kruchten,CRS,CRB,GRIArizona's Top Banana of Real Estate!http://activerain.com/blogsview/5101920/ask-an-ambassador----begin-at-the-beginning-
It was great advice as always, in her post.  I knew I had "learned" it years ago when I first began blogging in the rain, but thought I'd better do a quick check.
I knew I had updated some of my bio a few months back, but today's reminder had me adding my associate broker license number, as well as a video.  I don't think it used to be this easy to embed a video.  It's amazing how … (2 comments)

active rain: Where Can You Be 30 Days From Now?? - 04/14/16 12:07 AM
This morning I was looking for a past marketing letter and I ran across the rough draft of a blog I'd written July 2, 2010.  It was all about what I'd learned in  26 days of blogging.
Wow.
It was fascinating that by that time I'd already published 48 postings, whether as a Member's Only, or reblog of a few.  I was a blogging machine. I don't blog as often nowadays, but I do 10X the business...
It made me reflect on what I've learned about blogging in almost 6 years and close to 2 million clicks! Here's a few comments from that earlier blog and … (20 comments)

active rain: Welcome New Rainer Chip Morgan! - 09/09/15 12:24 AM
Welcome New Rainer Chip Morgan!
I'd like to introduce a new member to Active Rain, sharing his very first post!  You can read it here:
I am A Real Estate Professional.
It's been a pleasure getting to know Chip Morgan, semi-new member of our Dove Mountain Office of Long Realty, in Marana and Tucson AZ.  Chips brings with him many years of sales experience, passion, drive, and best of all -- a grrrrreat sense of humor.  I am really enjoying seeing the world of Real Estate through his eyes.
We have a listing together as well -- and it's a beauty in Continental Ranch, Marana.  … (1 comments)

Ha!  There must be a glitch!  I've received four of these in the past couple of days...

Sure hope I don't get 47 more by the weekend!

That being said, it's been a fun and rewarding half million!  Thanks Active Rain and Active Rain community!!!!

active rain: Ten Things About Now That You Likely Do Not Know About Me - 08/03/13 10:05 AM
Ten Things About Now That You Likely Do Not Know About Me
I was really into the Active Rain Blogging Challenge that invited us to share ten things about our past.  Ten things about us NOW is part two, and much more challenging, but I will try.
1.  I am extremely happily married to my husband, Rocco Mancuso, and we celebrate our sixth anniversary tomorrow, August 4th.

2.  I like cats way more than dogs - they don't need as much attention.

3.  I am working really, really hard in real estate for my retirement, and for my travel … (7 comments)

A Bit of History - Trash Cans, Picacho Peak, and Milking Cows
I was reading blog posts from others this morning and came across an interesting posting by one of my favorite bloggers, Roger Mucci.  He inspired me to take my own trip down memory lane, sharing 10 things that folks may not know about me, from the past.
1.  I sang a solo at my high school graduation to represent the choral department.  Barbra Streisand was huge back then, and I chose, "The Way We Were".  There were about 2000 people at the ceremony, so it was a pretty big … (5 comments)

active rain: I Hit 3 at 3!! - 06/11/13 08:52 AM
I Hit 3 at 3!!!

I wanted to send a shout out to Diane Phillips today, and a big thank you for her Active Rain referral! Her friends, my clients...listed their home with me across the miles via an Active Rain referral agreement.
Yay!
Also very exciting was a personal milestone I reached today.  At 3:00 I got the call/email that the transaction had recorded in Tucson, AZ, and at that point I passed my $3,000,000.00 mark in sales this year.
So, at 3 I hit 3!!!
Doubly exciting.
Never doubt the power of Active Rain!!!
Last year, over half … (1 comments)

Follow the Path of Active Rain Breadcrumbs
I was flipping through the different pages of my blog site last night on Active Rain and noticed that in just a few more clicks, 10,000 people will have visited my profile page.  Wow.  10,000 people that I don’t know have taken a peak at little ole’ me.  I find that amazing.
It called to mind a headline I’d read earlier yesterday (before my computer froze) about newbies not fully engaging in the Active Rain process.  Because, as we all know here that have success in Active Rain, this site is about way more … (26 comments)

active rain: Where Does Your Business Come From? - 11/05/12 09:28 PM
Where Does Your Business Come From?
I don't know about you, but as a REALTOR®, I like to keep a spreadsheet of my business transactions.  Even when I had just a few, I started my color-coded, growing document.
I believe it helps you to understand where your business and referrals are coming from.
When I first started, I tried several pay-per-click sites.

I was a "featured" REALTOR® on others.
I tried hard-copy, business-card-sized ads in local niche markets.
I set an advertising budget consistent with my business plans and goals, and tried different avenues, tracking all the while, to see … (69 comments)

300,000 Points and Just Getting Started
This blog posting is going to take me over the 300,000 mark here in Active Rain and I've done a lot of thinking about blogging and Active Rain lately.  In fact, much more thinking than posting!
At the end of January I switched brokerages to join a Long Realty Branch not 10 minutes from my home.  Long Realty captures the lions' portion of Market Share here in metropolitan Tucson, and I'm hoping it adds to the real estate recipe I've been cooking up for about 18 months now.

So with the brokerage transfer, … (62 comments)

active rain: "Buyers Don't Care about your AR Account" - 01/17/12 04:08 AM
"Buyers Don't Care about your AR Account"
With the start of 2012, I've noticed that SEO managers, blogging professionals, Bing, Google, and Yahoo reps, etc. are tearing up the phone lines with their marketing and online "advice".  Every one is trying to offer something of value and are certain they have the answer to online productivity.
Here's a follow-up email I received from one such call, and I thought I'd share just an excerpt.
"Buyers will almost never see your AR account and they won’t care either.  The only legitimate reason to spend any time on AR is to improve your … (77 comments)

Active Rain Fun Over Memorial Weekend! (Or Watch Out for My Husband - He's Got a Croquet Mallet!
Had a real treat this weekend and got to meet the writers behind the blogs/the faces behind the names.
Julie Vosmik and her husband Jim hosted a mini-AR party up in Scottsdale, AZ on Sunday and several of us were able to get together.
I met Juli

and Rosalie and her husband John

and Laura and her daughter Jen

active rain: Tucson at 4 a.m. - Good Morning! - 05/25/11 01:31 AM
Tucson at 4 a.m.  Good Morning!
Coming from rural Wisconsin, a bit east of Green Bay, at 4 a.m. there were rarely any cars on the roads.  Farmers bringing their cows in for milking, and the rare feed wagon pulled by a tractor making its way to the fields, but road traffic - nil.
So, it's always a little "shocking" when I am on the freeways in "the middle of the night", in my terms.  I had to take my daughter to the airport this morning - she's off to enjoy a Seattle, WA visit at her youngest older brother's home.

active rain: Listing Listings In Active Rain - 04/13/11 03:22 AM
Listing Listings In Active Rain

I was playing around with my Active Rain profile this morning when I remembered that Listings button that I hadn't really checked out since it appeared a while ago.  Have you clicked it on your Home page?  I quickly added the information the page requested, activated the link, and checked to see if those links worked in my browser window.  Sure enough, they open up with their very own page and look very nice.
Then, to my surprise, when I went back to my home page, there they were, listed in my right hand column, … (41 comments)

Ringing in the Happy New Year with a Fantastic Meal
I was blessed with Family this Christmas - my three sons came from Alaska, Wisconsin, and Washington to share the holidays with their little sister, mom, and my husband Rocco...and Great-Grandma Ski!

It was a houseful at times!  One brought his girlfriend, and another his wife and our grandchild, so it was a fun, fun time with lots of visiting and laughter.
On New Year's Eve, my oldest son Doug had gone off to Phoenix with his girlfriend and their night of plans.  We planned on ushering in 2011 with … (6 comments)

active rain: You Make Me Feel Like Dancing!!! - My 30/30 Challenge is Complete!! - 09/21/10 05:13 PM
This is it!  I've DONE it!  I think this is number 30!  My 30/30 day challenge is over!!!!!
I have to admit, I've been a rainmaker for four months now, and this has been my hardest.  There's quite a bit of difference between "feeling" like blogging, and being "committed" to blogging.
My numbers show pretty consistent blogging totals.  My first month I went a little crazy with 46 posts - so much to SAY, so much to SHARE - so much time in front of my COMPUTER!!!!!!!!
I do like my weekends off.  It revvs me up for the week to … (13 comments)

active rain: 26 Days and Counting... - 07/02/10 06:29 AM

26 Days and Counting The end of May, I received a call from Joel Kruse, trying to talk me into becoming a Rainmaker and participate in outside blogging.    My arguments were, “I am too busy.” “I’m not smart enough.” “I’m not techno-minded.” “I already have a blog on Blogger.”
…I’ll confess:  I agreed to experiment because the “special” was $5 a month for two months.  On July 6, I nervously “re-blogged” a post I thought of importance.  When the sky didn’t fall overnight, (I was online and checking early morning) I submitted my first attempt – a listing.
After that, … (7 comments)

Newbie Alert - Soci@l - Putting It All Together - Can Make it all Clear to You!

As an Active Rain newbie, when I saw the blogs reviewing "Soci@l attract friends, followers, andconnections to your business",  I dropped everything else I was studying and downloaded the manual.  I have never been very tekkie, my patience level is medium to short in learning computer "things", and I don't own all of the new gadgets. As I read the book, I implemented many of the suggestions and visited many of the links as I went along, knowing that it would help cement the … (58 comments)
