I have some background music playing while I weed through emails this morning and I was thinking about work/life balance.
We were at a business luncheon yesterday when a young escrow agent was telling a story of her envy regarding another professional who said as a means of persuasion, "I can work my own hours and vacation when I want...I can always take my phone and computer on vacation!"
My business partner and I both laughed and grimaced simultaneously...we each know the many "vacations" we took where the phone or computer … (3 comments)

The Serenity Prayer can Work for All of Us
"God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change; courage to change the things I can;and wisdom to know the difference. "
A while back a family member called to vent and share about a family situation, wishing there was a way to handle it better.  They understood their own feelings, and respected the point of view of the party in question, but coping was another matter.  Out of the blue I thought of the Serenity Prayer.

Planning to Succeed - My Kind of Success

I'm counting my blessings this morning, looking back over 2010 and feeling thankful indeed.
