hoa: Am I Blue? Standing Out in Tucson

When I first moved to the Tucson, Marana, and Oro Valley area, I had a bit of trouble remembering how to find friend's houses. It seemed every neighborhood looked "the same".
If you've followed my blog posts at all, you can detect a certain similarity amongst many homes built after 1980, in the $75,000 to $400,000 range. They call it Contemporary Frame Stucco. They come in tan, gold, beige, brown, off white, puce, shades of rust - lots of earth tones. When you're new here, you get to thinking all the homes look alike until you have time to (6 comments)

Tucson Gated Townhomes in the Foothills - Kachina Hills I had a confirmed appointment Wednesday morning with a prospect to view several homes in the Tucson Foothills. I'd made the appointments and gotten the codes, etc. in order to make a nice morning of it. Unfortunately, my prospective client didn't show! Never one to "waste my time", I whipped out my camera, and went along to all of my appointments anyway, because there's no harm in previewing for the next client who WILL show up, and I hate to let down the homeowners.
The average Tucsonan resident living in a subdivision encounters Home Owner Associations. How much power they have depends on their Rules and Regs, and CC & Rs - the governing documents that each community provides during escrow to homebuyers. Some of these communities are self-governed, and some are shipped out to management companies. HOA's help maintain and preserve the integrity of your subdivision, provide services, and even offer community events! Some HOAs prevent the renting of homes within a community.
