Yep - there he is!!!

Scary to say I was putting a broom away standing only a foot from this young guy.  My first thought was, "Do I call 9-11"?
Well, no, someone said call the fire department.
So, I looked online and since 2009, our Northwest Fire Department does not answer snake calls.
If I was in Rural Metro district, they would come out.  No such luck.

Spring is here and the snakes are waking up.  Visitors and residents need to take extra care when going out and about.
There are blue ones...

 
and red ones....

(This one actually says HSSSS but was going by so fast....)

Rattlesnakes in the Tucson, AZ desert Rattlesnakes in the Tucson, AZ desert can be as close as your back yard.   According to the national weather bureau, Tucson received more spring rain this year than past.  And in the Tucson, AZ desert areas, we can expect snakes to be around until the cold weather days appear, generally late October.  Experts say there is a connection between rain and rattlesnakes:  the more rain, the more vegetation; The more plants, the more rodents; the more rodents, the more snakes.
