tucson: The Tucson Desert Speaks to Us - 07/30/22 07:40 AM
The desert speaks to us in quiet ways;
Purple mountains,
Dazzling sunsets,
A society of cacti where we can
visit our ancestors if our ears are open to the voice of the Saguaro

Riotous blooms of color --

Create their own beguiling melody within
your mind.
There's a danger here, a power, and yet it whispers to the soul;
Inviting solace,
Contemplation,
and reverence,
Come.
Be.
Tucson.

Come, live in Tucson.  All but one of these photos were taken at a coming soon listing, available for viewing August 1, 2022.  It is located at 4405 N Old Ranch Rd - Tucson, AZ 85743-8875

tucson: Please Don't Pee in the Pool! - 06/08/22 04:07 PM
According to an article I read in Prevention.com last summer, there were some interesting factoids about pool water.
Makes me think it's really awesome to just have your own, backyard pool.
According to the CDC, the average swimmer CAN introduce these tiny organisms into the pool simply by taking a dip.
For further definition, I TRIED to look up the size of a microbe, but they vary.  They are not visible to the human eye, so there's that.  You can google it yourself and come out as confused as I.
But I digress... the stats are as follows from your average swimmer:
10 million microbes of … (6 comments)

Within its borders is plenty of shopping, a movie theatre, restaurants, a public golf course, and fitness options.

tucson: Hummingbirds in Tucson - Living the Fast Life! - 05/16/22 02:31 PM
Who doesn't marvel at the sight of a tiny hummingbird, wings whizzing, taking a sip from a summer bloom or sugar feeder.
Did you know Tucson AZ is rich in hummingbirds in terms of sheer numbers and diversity?
Our abundant, year round supply of plants and natural landscape appeal to the hummingbird, as well as being so close to the Mexican border where they thrive as well.  There can be more than 13 different species of hummingbirds found in our area, according to the Tucson Audobon Society.  The four you are most likely to find include the Costa's Hummingbird, Anna's Hummingbird, Broad-billed Hummingbird, … (2 comments)

tucson: Is Cash King? - What is the Home Sale Breakdown in Metro Tucson - 04/05/22 10:36 AM
I'm looking at the last six months from today, April 5, 2022.
At the time of writing this blog posting, 893 homes are for sale within Tucson, Oro Valley, Tucson, and Vail.
You can imagine the competition for these homes.
We are all familiar, I'm certain, with the phrase, Cash is King.  It certainly can be in today's market.
Just for kicks, I checked the percentage for those that sold in the past 6 months...cash.  Out of 8514 sales, 2377 were cash.   That's 28% of homes sold - sold cash.  49% sold with Conventional loans.  12% sold with FHA loans. So although cash can make … (1 comments)

tucson: Choosing Your Real Estate Professional PART 1 - 03/27/22 11:40 AM
I received one of those spam emails last week and happened to skim:  a few things resonated.
It talked about the many choices our prospects and clients have when choosing a real estate professional to sell / list their home.
It was selling a calling service. This one promised 9 phone calls in 2 weeks.
Now I don't know about YOU, but I hate spam calls.  With. A. Vengeance.
At the end of 2020, the Association of Real Estate License Law officials estimated over 3 MILLION active real estate licensees in the US.
This begs the question - when you are looking to choose … (0 comments)

tucson: "Don't Go Bacon My Heart" - 03/23/22 02:44 PM
I've been remiss in my blogging and resolve to pick it back up again.  I've missed the camaraderie between fellow bloggers online and ... well, just the routine of it.  :)
For inspiration, since I'm a rusty ole nail, I checked out an idea board online for blogging topics.
#3 was Bacon.
Oh my gosh, don't you love it.  Bacon.  Most people really enjoy a side of salty pork.
When I think of bacon, I recall an Iron Chef Tucson event where the main ingredient was bacon.  I think by the end of the hour of cooking, everyone in there would have paid big bucks … (7 comments)

tucson: Do you Recycle Your Grease? - 11/02/20 09:45 AM
You can, yes you can!
I tend to pour mine in a can and refrigerate, throwing away when hard, but this can be trickier when it's a FryDaddy that needs changing, or something larger.
Tucson area residents can participate in the Recycle your Cooking Grease event just after the new year!  January 9, 2021
Save your used cooking fats, oil and grease to drop off at the free 16th Annual Grease Collection & Recycling Event, Saturday, January 9, 2021.
I'm sure you know,  cooking grease in your kitchen should never be poured down the drain. Instead, store it in containers and bring it to the 16th … (2 comments)

I'd like to offer a shout out to locally owned business,
TCR II Suspension Brake and Alignment™ Auto Repair ServicesHere is their website:  https://tcr2auto.com/
My sister and her husband stopped by our home in Tucson after visiting their daughter in California.  They were experiencing some suspension issues with their heavy-duty 350 truck and hoped to get immediate service.
They filled out an online form asking for next day service, and lo and behold, were able to drop their truck off at 11 a.m.  AND...the service was completed same day.
The owners were upbeat, professional, and knew their stuff.  They even offered a Military discount, as well as … (1 comments)

tucson: Neighborhood Food Drive for Southern AZ Community Food Bank - 09/15/20 10:52 AM
When I was young, err...younger, my mother had a phrase that became one of those life habits.  To paraphrase,
"When life is giving you lemons, look around.  There are always those that are less fortunate than you."
Unfortunately, that's very true.  And, right now, there are a whole lot of folks living in metropolitan Tucson needing our help.
That's why we're hosting a food drive.
Fairway Mortgage and Long Realty are teaming up to help the Community Food Bank of Southern Arizona.

Let's make others' reality a little bit better so they, too, can reach for their dreams.
We asked the Southern Arizona Community Food Bank … (2 comments)

tucson: Working With The Long Realty Team - 09/09/20 11:56 AM
When I initially talk teams with my clients, I first address the relationship between you and me.  After all, communication is KING and facilitates the many moving parts in any Real Estate transaction.
I like to identify best time of day, phone, text or email, and so forth.  We talk about holidays.  Work weeks. After hour communications.  I share that I love a paper trail and don't expect you to remember all of the details that I find so riveting.  So, I'll send a recap of most conversations just for the record.
But there's even more to a team than meets the eye.

tucson: Phoenix or Tucson: What's the Difference? - 07/16/20 09:26 AM

Folks moving to Arizona from other parts of the country often ask, "What is the difference between Tucson and Phoenix"? Now that's a pretty broad question, and one that could be addressed with PAGES of info, but I'll see what I can summarize in a few hundred words, in my own humble opinion.
1. Please know I'm biased. I live in Tucson. I love Tucson. I do not intend to LEAVE Tucson voluntarily. :)
To me, Tucson is a great big sprawling town. A city where so many of us are from somewhere else. A place where you can hear "howdy ma'am" and … (13 comments)

This gated, luxury community is sure to steal your breath away.  From the moment you advance from the tunnel through the mountainside, you are met with desert splendor and serenity.
Today I'm sharing my visit through Saguaro Ranch, in NW Tucson/Oro Valley/Marana.
After the lovely hilltop break, we traveled through Saguaro Ranch, noticing the existing homes all share the architectural guidelines of utilizing glass, steel and stone in their construction.  Stunning!
Here's a visual of four lots for sale,  I'm standing on lot 100, and lots 97-99.

Further up the road, we enjoyed the hills and valleys of this beautiful community.
There is a home with guest home currently … (0 comments)

tucson: Justketos.com - 06/21/19 08:10 AM

(No, this isn't really a KETO photo unless you subtract the potatoes.  This was my husband's meal)
Folks who live in NW Tucson are familiar with a local icon by the name of Copper Creek Cookies.
In addition to cookies that presidents have eaten, they have always made a killer Cinnamon roll and offer great catering options.
"Rolling" with the times, Copper Creek Cookies have introduced a new direction for the community.
