Vegas Bob is in Alaska Now
It's been raining everyday now in Alaska for over 3 weeks and everything is so GREEN, so much different than the desert backdrop in Las Vegas and it the burning hills of California.
Vegas Bob will be picking up his (new) camera today in Anchorage so it better clear up soon because Vegas Bob won't put up with all this rain.

Happy memories of Myanmar (Burma) and it's people
Over the last 10 years Robert Vegas Bob Swetz has had the privilege of traveling to Burma which they call Myanmar 4 different times. When visiting the country and it's people it's like going back in time, less technology, less stress and less troubles.
When ever I would come across the Burmese people they were always very interested in me as a foreigner to their country. They were always polite and some a bit camera shy, but after a few minutes of my guide talking to these in the Burmese language they came around quickly for that … (27 comments)

Water Festival the (New Years) Celebration in Myanmar started today in Burma.Robert Swetz has attended Water Festival 3 different times in Myanmar and what a great celebration.
For 7 days the Burmese celebrate New Year by shooting water from stages where musicians perform, stages full of locals with hoses in their hands shooting water all over cars passing by and more. Over the past 15 years I have had the privilege of traveling to Southeast Asia four different times. Myanmar (Burma) 4 times, Thailand 2 times, Taiwan 2 times, Singapore once and several others.
When I think about my travels to South East Asia I find it hard to believe sometimes that I ever traveled there. But when I go through the 100's of 1000's of photographs that I took when I was there, I know that I was there.

If you look real close at this photo of Vegas Bob in a temple in Myanmar/Burma, you can see approx 6 different "Orbs" in the photo
There are 3 different sized Orbs by the left eye of the lying Buddha Statue that Vegas Bob is touching, and another 3 between the eyes of the statue.

Water Festival a New Year Celebration that last approx 5 days. All the cities and towns close all their businesses for 5 days and the whole country of Myanmar is full of music on stages, water sports and so much more. "NEW YEARS" Water Festival in Myanmar/ Burma is going on right now! Cities across the whole country of Myanmar close businesses for 5 days straight including the weekend gives the Burmese a total of 9 days to celebrate.
I have been to the "Water Festival" in Yangon Myanmar 3 different years and it is quite exciting. For a country with all it's problems these people really know how to celebrate and have fun.

Robert (Vegas Bob) Swetz just arrived back in Las Vegas Nevada after picking his wife Nu Nu and her mother up at LAX in Los Angeles California.
Nu Nu and her mother spent over one month in Myanmar/ Burma taking care of some family matters. Vegas Bob's Burmese family continues to grow with 15 total Burmese living in America within a 10 years span. Nu Nu and her mother arrived in America with her brother's wife and 3 daughters that have never ever been to America ...
Nu Nu's oldest brother, wife and 3 daughter's will be spending their 2nd day … (14 comments)

Try and be HAPPY with the things you have ... ;o) So many people in this world complain about all the things they don't have, instead of just being HAPPY with the things they do have. I even find myself complaining sometimes about gas prices, the way someone acts, what their wearing and little things that really don't add up to anything. That's right ... Robert (Vegas Bob) Swetz might be headed to Myanmar/ Burma and Thailand in the next several weeks. I just spoke with Nu Nu over the phone and she wants me to apply for a Burmese Visa ASAP. There is no emergency ... She just misses me ... These children from Myanmar/ Burma would like to say "Good Morning America" ...
On our last visit to Myanmar/ Burma we came across these Burmese preparing their fishing nets and traps for fishing. These cute little Burmese children ... one older boy and three very young ladies caught Vegas Bob's eye as we were walking by.
I took some video and snapped several photographs ... it didn't take very much for VB to get these children to laugh as I took this photograph because they are not use to seeing Americans on this little island by the India Ocean … (9 comments)

Robert (Vegas Bob) Swetz has been plugging the Internet with hundreds & thousands of blogs, photographs & videos of Myanmar/ Burma for around 7 years now. VB has traveled to Myanmar 5 different times in the last seven years and lives with 6 family members from Myanmar, very few of them speak English so VB's home is actually like a home in Myanmar.

This photo of Sherry was taken in Myanmar back in April of 2010 when she lived in Myanmar. Now Sherry lives with us in America and she is growing like a weed, it's very hard to comprehend how fast she is growing because I am so busy with work.
Around Christmas work will be slowing down for a while for Vegas Bob and once again I will be able to spoil Sherry with going to the movies, going to the parks, hiking, … (11 comments)
