childhood: Nuture Your "Children" - 10/22/09 11:42 PM
 Nuture Your "Children"
Do you take care of your "children"?
You may never have thought of your dreams as children, but that's what they are.
They are offspring - the joy of your today and the hope of your future.
 Protect them.
 Feed them.
Nurture them. Encourage them to grow. Care for them. For someday, they may take care of you.

 Cherish your visions
and your dreams as they are the children of your soul; the blueprints of your ultimate achievements.

childhood: Please try not to push your children into growing up so fast! (please bookmark) - 07/16/09 11:07 AM
Life is very short and youth is even a shorter part of our lives, so please try not to push your children into growing up so fast!
I was one of those kids that grew up to fast and I missed so much of my youth that I have been searching ever since for the lost pieces.
As we get older our bodies get tired, but our minds seem to hang onto some of our youth. I know that I am an adult but I love acting like a kid sometimes, it's fun and people do give you some strange looks.
 And I … (11 comments)

childhood: Robert Swetz, Nu Nu & Cherry Roller blading in Singapore - 10/30/08 02:06 PM

Robert Swetz, Nu Nu & Cherry Roller blading in Singapore.
Here are some photographs of Cherry and myself roller blading in Singapore in May of this year. Cherry had never seen roller blades before in her country and it didn't take her long to get the hang of it.
The photo above was when Cherry first put on the Skates and after a hour she didn't need any help.
The photograph below is Cherry and her mother Nu Nu bonding after not seeing each other in 5 years.

We are still working on getting Cherry into the United States … (17 comments)

childhood: What will the future look like for Robert Swetz at Active Rain? - 10/18/08 07:20 AM

Happy, Robert, Nu Nu and Zin Zin  -  story and photo by Robert Swetz
What will the future look like for Robert Swetz at Active Rain?
This is a very good question and I have been thinking about quite often.
I have been with Active Rain since Feb-April of 2008 and did not even know what a blog was until I joined. All of this blog stuff was new and it was very difficult in the beginning, but I managed to get through it in the long run.
I have over 20 groups and moderate only 10 of them at this … (21 comments)

childhood: DAVID BOWIE Group at Active Rain: by Robert Swetz - 10/15/08 08:00 PM

I grew up in the 70s with the Beatles, Rolling Stones, Led Zeppelin, and many more. There was one musician back then that if you listened to his music and lyrics the jiggles would stick with you. You would listen to the album, really like it and go out and buy more albums he put out.
His real name is David Jones and her changed his real name because there was another man with the same name from England that was in the group (The Monkees).
So David Jones changed his stage name to David Bowie. The Bowie name came from … (9 comments)

childhood: Mother has not seen her Daughter in Six Years (Part Three) by Robert Swetz - 09/22/08 07:17 PM

This is the latest update on Yumi (Cherry) coming to live with her mother in the United States.
We just received another letter from Homeland Security and the letter states the same thing as the other letters we have received from Homeland Security.
The letter states that they are reviewing the case and they won't tell us why or when this case will be resolved. This is very, very depressing news. Cherry's case was approved with Homeland Security October of 2005 and I have received almost 8 letters from Homeland Security stating the same comments in the last 3 years. … (20 comments)

childhood: Program Years from (Zero to Six) - Parents Please Read! by Robert Swetz - 09/04/08 12:50 PM

"THE PROGRAM YEARS"     (zero to six)
That's right, zero to six are the program years for infants.
From when a child is born and until they reach around six are some of the most important years of their life. Don't get me wrong, all years of a persons life are important, but zero to six are (program years).
(Almost) everything that a child hears, views, and experiences from zero to six will be repeated through their life. Discipline, manners, gestures, respect, etc., will be learned early on.
Some parents may say " but their only a baby! " or " … (21 comments)
