Robert Swetz received several calls today and some text messages including one from the Better Business Bureau congratulating GMS on their contractors license. Las Vegas Nevada continues to be dead in the water within the construction industry. When driving around the Las Vegas "Strip", Downtown and parts of Henderson everything looks busy. But for the most part, almost all of this construction going on around Las Vegas is being done by non-union companies. Well, here is the latest breaking news on Vegas Bob and the direction he will be headed. VB was in the Bay Area lining up work for construction glazing (glass work), only to find out he couldn't stand all the traffic. VB isn't about to spend hours stuck in traffic at his age, life it to short.
Vegas Bob is headed to Alaska for 3-4 weeks soon!

Decisions ... Decisions ... Decisions ... "What's your Opinion"? Being Vegas Bob and licensed to sell Real Estate in Las Vegas and the state of Nevada it is very difficult to leave Las Vegas Nevada. Robert (Vegas Bob) Swetz has been called twice now from Local Union 1621 in San Jose in the last 3 weeks about work in San Francisco. I transferred my union card from 2001 Las Vegas to 1621 San Jose one month ago. It's very difficult to leave my family in Las Vegas to work in the Bay Area, but it is time to make that "Decision." Some of you may know and some of you may not, that Vegas Bob have been in the Glass Industry for over 30 years and has his Journeyman Glazing Card in Local 2001 in Las Vegas Nevada.
Well there are some HUGE projects coming up soon in the future in Los Angeles California and Las Vegas is very slow and has been compared to LA.
I have been thinking very strongly about transferring my Card to Local 636 in Los Angeles until a big project opens in Vegas which may be quite a long time.
