Vegas Bob's 4 day weekend started 2 hours ago
That's right Robert Vegas Bob Swetz has a 4 day weekend and he will be enjoying it with his wife around the Monterey Peninsula.
Vegas Bob will be picking up his wife at the San Jose airport early Friday morning and then we are headed to the beaches of California.
Early Saturday afternoon we will be eating at Phil's fish Market and I will be eating fresh Halibut from Alaska. Then it's off to La Selva Beach, Capitola, Rio del Mar and other beaches in the area.

Vegas Bob leaves beautiful Homer Alaska
The 2 day visit and fishing trip is over for Vegas Bob and his family in Homer Alaska, we are all packed with our frozen halibut in the cooler headed north to Seward.
In Seward we will stop by a famous glacier and then drive back to Anchorage.
After we hit Anchorage we will drop the frozen fish off at the house and then drive north to Wasilla where we will be staying at Lake Lucile.

Robert Vegas Bob Swetz continues to get excited as he counts the days before his next journey to the Last Frontier ... ALASKA
It's going to be wonderful to hug my wife and two boys after being gone since late May of 2016 ;o)
We will be hiking the trails along the lakes, rivers, mountain and fishing in Homer Alaska the following Sunday for halibut.
And with (new camera) in hands Vegas Bob is going to capture the moment of his latest trip to Alaska ... So Stay Tuned!

Well the days are going fast before Vegas Bob jumps on a Jet and flies to the Last Frontier, and he is getting excited.
Vegas Bob will be carrying very little luggage because he has a closet full of clothes at his place in Anchorage.
And Vegas Bob will need to bring some fresh halibut back to the lower 48 for his friend he promised last year and never came through.

Robert Swetz is getting very excited because in 2 weeks he will be with his family in Alaska fishing halibut in Homer Alaska.
I remember several months ago when I was booking a round trip flight from San Jose to Anchorage thinking I would have to wait forever, but now it's only 2 weeks away.
I am sure hoping the weather is going to be nice and sunny on my visit to Alaska because my wife mentioned it has been raining up in Anchorage everyday for almost 2 weeks.

Robert Vegas Bob Swetz just finished booking his halibut charter for 6 people in Homer Alaska, which will take place around the end of August 2016.
Robert Swetz is very excited and is flipping the whole bill on the charter which will be over $1000 dollars.
This price for a charter of 6 people is a smoking deal, they supply the poles, bate, cleaning of the fish, all except flash freezing into one pound vacuumed selling plastic.
Here's the way I see it ...
Alaskan halibut sells for around $25 dollars per pound. There will be 6 adults fishing and the average halibut is around 50 … (16 comments)

That's right Robert Vegas Bob Swetz has already picked his days for his next fishing trip for halibut in Homer Alaska, and has put the days on the calendar at work.
Around the end of August Vegas Bob will be flying from San Jose to Alaska to once again fish halibut with his wife Lin and possibly his 2 sons.
Vegas Bob ate the last of the halibut from his trip last year and it's time to fill that freezer once again with Alaskan halibut ... yummy ;o)

For anyone that has been following Vegas Bob, Alaska Bob aka Robert Swetz you might know why he is counting the days and it's not Christmas!
Robert Swetz will be going on a long journey, a long journey into a far distant land of ice, snow, grizzly bears, moose, wolf, mountain goats, halibut, king salmon, his family and a new place he calls home.
With the (new) name Alaska Bob, Robert Swetz aka Vegas Bob will be flying out of Las Vegas December 20th to be with his (new) family.

Alaska Bob/Vegas Bob had a very successful day fishing Halibut in Homer Alaska July 12th 2015.
Vegas Bob entered a contest trying to win a $25,000 dollar prize by catching the largest halibut in the year 2015.
Robert Swetz aka Vegas Bob aka Alaska Bob did catch a 140 pound halibut, but did not beat the recent holding record so far of 247 pounds caught by a lady 2 weeks ago in Homer.

The beautiful young lady in the photo above that was taken at Lucile Lake in Wasilla Alaska is by far the number one reason Alaska Bob aka Robert Vegas Bob Swetz is going to Alaska ;o)
Robert Swetz will be fishing for halibut in Homer Alaska the second week of July 2015 with his lovely wife Lin.
November 2014 was the last time Vegas Bob was in Alaska, and in May of 2015 Lin stopped into San Jose for a visit.
The second reason Alaska Bob will visiting the Last Frontier in Alaska would be it's beauty.

I am very excited about setting up a charter boat to fish Halibut in Homer Alaska.
I have a relative that lives in Wasila Alaska that has lived in Alaska now for 7 years. Well he has fished off charter boats in Homer for several years now.
He is setting up a trip around the 3rd week of June this year. Price per person is $300 dollars and persons fishing can keep 2 halibut fish. The weight of halibut fish can run from 30 lbs to 300+ give or take.
