Robert Vegas Bob Swetz owned a lake property in northern Minnesota 25 years ago that he sold 2 years ago because he hadn't had a chance to stay in it for almost 8 years. With 161 feet of shore line on Island Lake by Northome Minnesota Robert's property was very beautiful but the winters there were colder than winters in Anchorage Alaska, dropping down to 20-30 below zero.

Robert Swetz aka "Vegas Bob" has known Tammy Lankford for so many years at the ActiveRain network, it seems like forever.

Vegas Bob has been on vacation in Alaska now for 2 weeks and is thinking of saying for another 14 days!
Alaska is a photographer haven, every new place that Vegas Bob goes to in parts of Alaska end up being a life time experience.

I have been purchasing Lake & River Properties for over twenty years now and I continue to still purchase when a great deal comes along.
The Lake & River properties that I am usually interested have to be owner financed/ contract for deed.

Have you ever been to "Lake Mead" in Nevada?
If you have ever been to Lake Mead in Nevada only 30 minutes from Las Vegas you will be able to relate to this post. And if you never have been to Lake Mead it is a (Must See), I was there Sunday afternoon taking some photographs and it was about 80 degrees out by the lake and it was beautiful.
Here are some stats on Lake Mead below and several photographs I took, I will be posting another story with some very unusual photographs I captured while experimenting with my camera.

I captured this very different scene at a Lake very close to Las Vegas Nevada, can you guess the name of this Lake?
I will also be posting several stories with photographs of two different places I visited Saturday 11-21-2009 in Nevada only 30 minutes from Las Vegas.

Selling Commercial Real Estate verses Residential
I have purchased and sold Businesses, Commercial Properties, Residential Properties, Large Vacant Acreage, Commercial & Residential Building Lots & Vacation/ Recreational Properties.
Out of all of these different types of Real Estate I prefer Commercial, Business, and Vacant Land verses Residential Sales. The language and clients are much different with Commercial Real Estate and the transactions can take much longer.

This post is about Real Estate so I am coming to my friends and members at Activerain.
Growing up in Minnesota, the land of 10,000 lakes I am always interested in properties on Lakes, Rivers or the ocean. I own a lake lot in northern Minnesota 90 miles south of Canada and the view looks very similar to this photograph (above).

What part of California has the best (rural) property for early retirement?
Must be (Vacant) land!
I am seriously looking for a Rural piece of property in California for retirement, minimum of 10 acres. The property does not have to be in a city or town, but within 30-45 minutes away from one.
I would like the property to be within a 1 hour drive to the ocean, possibly adjacent to a lake or river. Must have easement and utilities within 100 feet.

I have been purchasing these types of properties for around 20 years now and own several of my own. I own a beautiful Lake property in Northern Minnesota with approx 161 feet of shoreline on a huge lake, about 100 miles south of the Canadian Border.
