Just another day at the park - (maybe for some of us)
As your looking at the beauty and scenery at this park it looks like just another day at the park, right!
But as you look real close at the very top of the photo you can see a tripod and two people dresses in red, walking this way. Also if you look real close you can see a man squatting down with a box of some sort in front of him.
The people dressed in red that are walking this … (20 comments)

myanmar burma: Strangest looking statue I have ever seen! (please reply) - 08/23/08 03:18 AM

photo by: Robert Swetz    Bagan Myanmar (Burma)   May - 2008

This has to be one of the strangest statues of Buddha that I have ever seen.
As I was walking around in Bagan waiting for a buggy ride to the next temple I came across this statue inside a small structure very close to the road.
As I looked inside the structure I saw was this Buddha statue, at first I didn't think nothing of it, but as I got closer I saw this strange looking head in the chest of the statue of Buddha.
What I was wondering was this … (27 comments)

MUST SEE PHOTOGRAPH --MY LAST PIC FOR SEVEN DAYS
Yes this is going to be my last nature photograph posted for seven days. Because all of next week I am going to post (ONLY) about Real Estate in Las Vegas and Real Estate in general.
The reason for my madness is because I want to try to drum up some extra business and mix up my blogs a little bit. If I do post any photos they will be Real Estate related.
So, the photograph that I … (36 comments)

I would like all members and non to have safe, fun, exciting, entertaining, relaxing, positive, loving, Saturday 8-16-2008.
This photograph was taken on my trip to Bagan, Myanmar (Burma). It was sunrise and what a beautiful sunrise it was. We climbed up one of the temples at 5:30 am approximately 150 feet and waited for the sun to come … (23 comments)

myanmar burma: HANDMADE CLOTHING MADE FROM WATER LILLIES - 08/06/08 09:13 AM

WATER LILLIES FROM INLE LAKE - MYANMAR (BURMA) by: Robert Swetz
When I was visiting Inle Lake in May of 2008 some of my relatives from Myanmar (Burma) brought to this special place where clothing is hand made.
There is a city built right in the middle of the lake where approximately 1000 Burmese live. The homes and buildings are all built on stilts because of the different water levels created by the rainy season (monsoon).
Small strands from the stem of the Water Lillies in the photo above are used to make different clothing. The strands are separated, colored with dye … (19 comments)

myanmar burma: BEAUTIFUL INLE LAKE - 08/05/08 04:34 PM

photo by: Robert Swetz                              Inle Lake Myanmar (Burma)   May 17-2008
This beautiful photograph of Inle lake was taken Spring of this year at the hotel we stayed at built right on the water. As you can see in the pic, the bridge, hotel, restaurant, etc, are all built on stilts for when the water level of the rises up and down.
It is by far one of the most beautiful places I ever visited when I was in Myanmar. To get out to this hotel located in the middle of the lake you have to go by boat, and the … (17 comments)

myanmar burma: Sometimes the simple things in life can be rewarding (BE POSSITVE TODAY) - 07/31/08 03:33 AM
Sometimes happiness comes in very strange ways.
These Burmese women had never seen an American in their life's and wanted to have a photograph taken with one, of course that was me. Please forgive me because I gained a some weight on my trip to South East Asia.
The reason that I am posting this story and photo is because it's sometimes the simple things in life that can make others happy. Burmese people are very, very simple and for these women and children to pose in the photograph with me made their day and they were so excited. By … (10 comments)

myanmar burma: MUST SEE PHOTOGRAPH OF OLD TEMPLES BUILT BETWEEN 850 - 1120 - 07/28/08 04:33 AM
This photograph is only showing 6 different temples out of 7,000 that were built in Bagan Myanmar (Burma). Early (circa 850-1120), Middle (circa 1100 -1170) and Late (circa 1170-1300).
On vacation in Bagan I spent 5 days and 4 nights shooting approximately 500 different photographs. From sunsets, sunrises, pics of temples (inside and out), statues, etc, I still didn't have enough time to capture all of Bagan.
To me, Bagan is one of the most amazing places on Earth and I will be visiting there quite often in the future. We would get up early mornings and wait until sunrise and … (9 comments)

myanmar burma: FLOWER GARDENS IN MYANMAR (BURMA) - 07/26/08 07:08 PM
I jumped on line and noticed quite a few members logged in, so I thought I would share a very beautiful photograph with you as your getting ready to call it a night.
This photograph was taken last year at a very famous flower garden in Myanmar - Southeast Asia, very close to Mandalay. It is a very large park and there are thousands of flowers with water surrounding and walk-ways everywhere.
I was not real happy when I entered the flower garden because it cost me $10.00 American dollars which is 120,000 Kets. All Burmese are … (5 comments)

myanmar burma: A WAY TO HELP THE INVIRONMENT (PLEASE READ) BAN THE PLASTIC BAG - 07/20/08 03:05 PM
My brother-in-law sent me this email that I would like to share with the members of Active Rain and other groups with AR. I really like the information and numbers used in this article, and how we can make a change.
When I was in Myanmar (Burma) in May of 2008 I noticed plastic bags all over the country side, it was ugly. Even in Las Vegas when driving to Salt Lake City, California and or out of Las Vegas, I notice plastic bags all over that have blown around. It's ugly.
If you can, please read this article and help … (3 comments)

myanmar burma: GREAT SHOT FROM INLE LAKE/ MYANMAR 4-17-2008 - 07/16/08 07:36 AM

Here is a very nice photograph taken at Inle Lake-Myanmar. My wife and I stayed here for several days. The hotel is located right in the middle of the lake and you have everything from hot water, dinning, boating, and more.
Villagers from Inle Lake go to school, work, play, etc within the lake. There is no reason to go to shore, their homes, etc. is all there.
After coming back to America my brother-in-law mentioned to me about when people pass away at Inle Lake, where do they bury the bodies? He said when people pass away the … (3 comments)

myanmar burma: GREAT PHOTO OF FISHERMAN ON INLAY LAKE, BURMA 2008 - 07/02/08 07:30 AM
This photograph was taken at Inlay Lake in Myanmar (Burma) in late April 2008 the night before the Cyclone hit the Delta and Yangon. The night I shot this photo me and my wife Nu Nu went out later that night and saw lightning and heard thunder from the Cyclone that was ripping through the southern part of Myanmar.
We had no idea as to what was going on with the storm or even know that there was a storm coming because we had no television and or radios. We found out the following morning about the Cyclone because we had … (3 comments)

myanmar burma: " What is so geat about web sites? " - 06/10/08 02:09 AM
" What is so great about web sites? "
I would like to talk about web sites and why they are beneficial.
At this time I have four web sites and I am working on a new one. I have three Real Estate web sites and one match-making site. Two of my web sites were built by web designers that were not very good and or inexperienced. These sites will have to be reworked, www.New-Commercial-Properties.com  and  www.NewAsianMates.com
The last site that I had buit was done by a lady from Park City Utah and she is very knowledgeable and did a … (1 comments)

myanmar burma: " MUST SEE SUNRISE PIC " - 06/08/08 03:28 AM
Here is a must see sunrise pic that was taken at Inlay Lake Myanmar (Burma), the morning after the storm hit the country around two weeks ago.
It is very strange how Myanmar can have such a terrible storm in the evening and then that following morning create such a beautiful sunrise.
Enjoy!

I know I mentioned I was finished posting for the week, but I just had to throw this pic out to everyone. There was no trick photography with this shot. The sun in this pick looks like a egg in a basket.
Have a wonderful weekend!
