Beware of Bears while hiking the trails of Alaska by Robert Swetz For 2 years now Robert Swetz aka Alaska Bob - Vegas Bob has been hiking the trails of Alaska, around Anchorage, Palmer, Homer, Wasilla, Seward, Denali National Park, etc.
While Robert hikes the trails, he is very prepared will a round bell attached to his belt to create noise while hiking, pepper bear spray, large Bowie knife and Robert is purchasing either a 44 Magnum or a 45 semiautomatic for protection. Robert Swetz moved by the story and movie - The Revenant
Well I finally had the chance to view the movie The Revenant yesterday and WOW ... what a story and great movie!
And after viewing what Hugh Glass went through, between being attacked by Indians (Native Americans) to a Grizzly attack, etc., I thought what a wonderful life I have.And as much hiking that I have done in Alaska the last couple years, the thought of carrying a pistol has crossed my mind many times.

For anyone that has been following Vegas Bob, Alaska Bob aka Robert Swetz you might know why he is counting the days and it's not Christmas!
Robert Swetz will be going on a long journey, a long journey into a far distant land of ice, snow, grizzly bears, moose, wolf, mountain goats, halibut, king salmon, his family and a new place he calls home.
With the (new) name Alaska Bob, Robert Swetz aka Vegas Bob will be flying out of Las Vegas December 20th to be with his (new) family.
