If you go to http://www.sheriffalert.com/ and register, you can receive early tornado & misc. special emergency information from the sheriffs department on your cell phone. This is a free service & provides some early warning for the rural people who can not hear the sirens. I pass this site out to all my clients who live in Kankakee County. Herscher High school just sent information to parents stating they would begin using this system to alert parents to snow days. I haven't seen that one come through but the storm alerts work quite well. … (0 comments)
