Have you ever imagined driving a team of sled dogs? Spirit of the North sled dog trips at Big Sky, Montana's Moonlight Basin Resort allows you to do so... And, it's not as hard as you may think because the dogs know the trail; you just need to keep your balance, apply drag or brakes, and move your body like a skier. The Huskies used for these eight mile trips come from Montana's sled dog racer Jessie Royer's vast kennel of Alaska-Siberian mixed dogs (greyhound and other breeds mixed in). On a beautiful, warm fall day in Bozeman, Montana, the Montana State Bobcats pulled out a nail-biting victory today in over time against the South Dakota Coyotes, 31-24. Cody Kempt, in for ailing regular quarterback Mark Iddins, hit 23 of 43 throws, helping the Bobcats with 3 touchdowns and 249 yards, in the non-conference game between the two teams from the Big Sky and Great West Conferences, respectively.

Big Sky Resort - First Tracks Program 2009 - 2010 Commencing the winter of 2009-2010, Big Sky Resort in Big Sky, Montana, will be instituting guided, 8:00 a.m. tram rides, allowing up to five skiers or snow boarders one hour of skiing/riding on Lone Peak an hour before the public hits the slopes. Called Big Sky Resort's "First Tracks Program," the arrangement allows two people for a price of $500, with up to three more at $35/person, for a total of five, to ski with a Big Sky Resort guide from 8:00 am - 9:00 am before the lifts open to the public.

Ushering in a new era for the Yellowstone Mountain Club, Sam Byrne's Boston-based Crossharbor Capital has won control of Big Sky, Montana's Yellowstone Club with a bid of $115 million. Judge Ralph Kirscher ok'd the bid, which includes Sam Byrne's commitment to inject up to $75 million into the Club, with $19 million dedicated to pay unsecured creditors, most of whom are regional business owners. The Yellowstone Club is a private 13,600 acre ski and golf community in Big Sky, MT.
