The Gallatin Field Airport (BZN) in Belgrade Montana, serving Bozeman and the surrounding region, may soon have a non-stop air flight to New York, NY (JFK). By combining a $950,000 public grant from the US Department of Transportation's Small Community Air Service Development Program with approximately $725,000 in private monies offered both by ski areas and businesses near Big Sky and Bozeman, airport officials hope to get Montana's newest direct flight off the ground. With the Gallatin Field expansion having recently finished, adding four new gates, Gallatin airport officials are eager to expand national and international air service into southwest Montana.

The premiere Nordic ski resort, Lone Mountain Ranch, built in 1977 and based in Big Sky, Montana has sold. Everlands, a company that buys the world's historical resorts in places like the Bahamas, Alaska, Martha's Vineyard, and beyond recently purchased Big Sky's Lone Mountain Ranch. Lone Mountain Ranch will soon be member-based, like The Yellowstone Club, also in Big Sky, MT. In an effort to include the Big Sky locals, the previous owners, who also created the Ranch, made strict agreements that Big Sky locals be allowed to continue using the 80km of nordic ski trails.
