Existing home sales jumped and it looks like recovery is on the move.  Home sales rose again in December, which was another small increase that housing has seen over the past six months, according to the National Association of Realtors®.
The National Association of Realtors® believes sales are on an upward trend.  December was a good finish for 2010, showing a recovery over the past six months.  December's pace is near the volume many people are expecting for 2011.  The market is getting closer to a sustainable level.  Recovery will likely continue as job growth gains and rising rents make … (1 comments)

realtors: Should You Do Your Home Repairs Yourself? - 04/08/09 06:17 AM
Many homeowners think about home improvements.  And while many of us have expensive tastes, we also have a small budget.  We find ourselves calling contractors and getting bids we can't afford.  So, then we begin thinking about becoming do-it-yourselfers.  Many times, by doing it ourselves, we can cut the expense of the project in half.
But the big question is, should you do the work yourself?  This answer could depend on many factors and your abilities.  Do you have the time, proper tools, safety gear and are you ready to do some hard work?  If you are not highly skilled at … (0 comments)

As real estate professionals, sellers ask us all the time, "What is the most successful way to sell a home?"   Therefore, we have some helpful hints to share with everyone for a successful home sale.
If you are going to live in your home while it is on the market, begin by decluttering your home.  Box up anything that you are not using or anything that is taking up unnecessary space.  Leave only what you absolutely can't live without.  You want the house to look as empty as possible.  Don't forget your closets and kids rooms.  Potential buyers will look in … (0 comments)

Mayor Kathy Taylor began the Tulsa Million Miles so Tulsans can get up and get active.  She started the website so they can track their exercise miles by walking, running, swimming, biking … (0 comments)

realtors: Don’t Miss the Tax Deductions on Your Real Estate Investment - 02/11/09 05:01 AM
There are around 11 million real estate investors in the United States, though many of them didn't consciously choose this.  Due to the recent real estate market conditions, many investors became so accidentally.  People who were buying homes and flipping them for a profit are no longer able to sell them.  However, they can rent them out to avoid foreclosure.  These types of investors are more likely to lose out on tax deductions if they are unaware of how to manage their investment properly.
There are many tax benefits and write-offs for real estate investors to take advantage of.  However, to … (0 comments)

realtors: Tulsa’s Housing Market Gets High Ratings and Rent is on the Rise - 01/21/09 03:02 AM
Although Tula 's housing market will drop at least 1.1% by the end of the year before it begins its recovery process, the city still tied with Houston for the Nation's sixth best performing housing market during a recession.  Yeah, Tulsa !
Because Tulsa has had a low home value growth since 2004, going from an average of $100,000 to $130,000, home values don't have nearly as far to fall when compared to housing markets that have skyrocketed over the past few years.
Since the downfall of the housing market, renters have seen an increase of 7.4% in the rent they … (0 comments)

realtors: Sand Springs Oklahoma is Betting on the Future - 01/07/09 06:18 AM
In tough economic times, most cities slow their development until the economy picks back up.  But Sand Springs is one city that's betting on the future and moving forward on a multi-million dollar project with absolutely no plans for cutbacks.  The city is aggressively seeking retail outlets and restaurants for River City Crossing.
River City Crossing is located at Morrow Road and Highway 97 near the Arkansas River .  Usually, an anchor tenant comes in first; but the city is doing something very different.  It's developing the property before the anchor tenant.  Although this area's anchor store will be Lowes, it's … (1 comments)

Although December 23rd is the first day of winter, for many areas of the country winter is already here.  And because of the cold weather, heating bills will rise.  However, there are some very simple things to keep heating costs down while keeping cozy.
To make your home cozy, begin with the windows.  Windows are the biggest source of heat loss from our homes.  If you own an older style home with single pane windows, you should definitely insulate your windows.  It never hurts to insulate your windows no matter which kind you have.  Window insulating kits can be purchased at … (0 comments)
