fort campbell: Thoughts from a Veteran on Veterans Day - 11/10/10 11:45 PM
While we honor our Veterans, both past and present and the sacrifices that many of these heroes made on battlegrounds around the world - some small and seemingly insignificant to the unforgettable and pivotal. It is certainly a very small token of our gratitude as a Nation - after all they are the reason we live in this great country this very day. All that said, I hope that you will indulge me and allow me to divert attention on this day from our Veterans to some of our unsung heroes - some would say the real heroes and in many … (1 comments)

fort campbell: Honor those who served our Country on Veterans Day - 11/10/09 11:40 PM
This editorial was co-written by Bill Larson and Tim Cash, and contains a gallery of images from the 2009 Veterans Day parade.
America has long had a fascination with Heroes: cowboys wearing a ten gallon hat and riding a white stallion, a firefighter rescuing someone from a building engulfed in flames, the Sheriff putting dangerous criminals behind bars, the athlete, the underdog overcoming impossible odds, and of course the special kind of person that volunteers to serve our great Country.

All, as you celebrate Memorial Day this year, please remember that it is more than hot dogs and hamburgers.  Please remember that as you celebrate with Family and friends that we have Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen and Marines in harm's way.

fort campbell: Who's building equity on your rent? - 05/16/09 12:13 PM
I have a little money question for you.  If you could put several hundred dollars a month into a savings account right now, on your current salary, without changing the way you live, would you?
Well, who wouldn't want to tuck away several hundred dollars a month?
Then here's something to consider.  You are basically doing that right now, only the savings are going into someone else's account.  It's called equity-and your landlord is getting it all.  In time his mortgage will be paid off and he will be making pure profit on your rent.  When that day comes you will … (1 comments)
