We were thrilled to see the signs go up for the Ridgewood Swim and Tennis Club Swim Team Registration.  They will be held tomorrow, Saturday, April 9th from 10-2 at the Ridgewood Club.
Ridgewood Swim and Tennis experienced a decrease in appearance and services over the winter months.  But with new owners at the end of March, there have been many improvements.  We have seen some improvements in the landscaping and some activity on the tennis courts, as well.  There are rumors that cable will be restored to all of the televisions soon.

History will come to life this weekend In Greensboro at the Guilford Courthouse Military Park, known locally as Battleground Park.  To commemorate the 230th anniversary of the Battle of Guilford Courthouse, FREE events will be held on Saturday, March 12 and Sunday, March 13.  Some activities will also take place at Country Park and the Colonial Heritage Center.

The ACC Hall of Champions is the newest attraction in Greensboro.  Opened to the public on March 3, 2011, this facility is dedicated the the rich history of Atlantic Coast Conference athletics.
The Hall features multi-media exhibits, life-sized mascots and interactive broadcasts to provide a comprehensive view of the first 58 years of ACC history.

Here's another reason to love Greensboro.  Tyler's Locker, a newly founded non-profit, has started collecting used sports equipment so that disadvantaged Greensboro youth can get into the game. 
Tyler's Locker was founded by Greensboro Police Captain John Wolfe and his son, Tyler, and has gained the support of Ricky Proehl, former NFL player, Greensboro Parks and Rec and Omega Sports.  Used sports equipment is being collected and then distributed to those throughout Greensboro who can't afford the expensive equipment that is sometimes required to participate in sports. In addition to collecting used equipment, Tyler's Locker accepts monetary donations to provide scholarships to those who are unable to afford … (0 comments)

Veteran's Day is on Thursday, November 11th and several restaurants are showing their appreciation to military personnel, both past and present, by providing free meals.  Applebees and Chili's are just two restaurants here in Greensboro who are participating in this great event.  In addition, Golden Corral will be giving away free meals on Monday, November 15th. 
Restaurants are the only establishments honoring our brave soldiers.  Did you know Lowe's Home Improvement offers a 10% discount to active and retired military personnel every day of the year?

In just two short days, we will be celebrating Veteran's Day.  In Greensboro, NC, there are several events on Thursday and throughout the weekend to honor Veterans.

Historic Carolina Theatre is located at 310 South Greene Street in beautiful downtown Greensboro. 
According to the Carolina Theatre website, the Theatre dates back to before the Great Depression. Originally opened on Halloween night in 1927, Carolina Theatre was a showplace from the start.  Crystal chandeliers, marbled columns and finely-carved archways were unique in the Carolinas at this time.  The awe-inspiring lobby and stately stage and auditorium are still as much of an attraction as the performances shown here.
