park: Cherry Blossom Time!
- 04/18/14 09:19 AM
Millions flock to Washington DC to see the Cherry Blossoms, but did you know that there are more cherry trees in New Jersey than in Washington? Team Zuhl took a jaunt through Warinanco Park in Linden and snapped these lovely pictures. So if you're looking for a little fresh air and some beautiful scenery, Warinanco Park is just what the doctor ordered!
Union County residents can enjoy a picnic in one of many lovely parks such as Mindowaskin Park in Westfield. Team Zuhl spent a great morning there this week – the pond has dozens of geese and fountains. Meandering walking trails move through peaceful 12.6 acre park, and the park boasts a playground for the younger set. The next time we’re there, we’re going to the Municipal Building next door to see the map with all of the memorial trees that have been planted throughout the park from 1940 through the 1960s.
Team Zuhl took a detour this week and visited Ponderosa Farm Park on Cooper Avenue in Scotch Plains. The ribbon cutting was last week and it's all the buzz in the neighborhood, and Team Zuhl likes to be where the action is, so off we went. There's plenty of parking, trees for shade, picnic tables abound, and soccer/baseball/softball fields. But the real attraction is the water park and playground.
The climbing equipment and ropes and slides are all on top of thick foam that didn't get warm for little feet in the sun. There's plenty to keep lots of kids busy. (4 comments)
