Clark - July 4th Arthur L. Johnson Regional High School, fireworks at dusk, rain date July 5.
Cranford - Start the day wit canoe races at 8 am at the Canoe Club followed by the 9 am Firecracker Fun Run at Nomahegan Park. Rides and games with Eddie's Amusements at Nomahegan Park starting at 2 pm. Fireworks at Nomahegan Park at 9:15 pm.
Rahway - Monday, July 3 at dusk at City Hall. Rain date Thursday, July 6th.

The city of Rahway is located in southern Union County, NJ, and is home to more than 27,000 people. Here's what you need to know if you are a Rahway home owner or home buyer.
Inventory:
There are currently 213 single family homes offered for sale in Rahway. While the inventory is increasing compared to recent months, it is lower than June of 2015 when 232 homes were offered for sale and June 2014 when 221 homes were on the market. Decreasing inventory is typically a sign of a stronger market as fewer homes on the market tend to increase home values.

Inventory: There are currently 228 single family homes offered for sale in Rahway. This is slightly higher than previous years. Higher inventory sometimes leads to lower prices.
Fifteen homes were sold in June in Rahway. This is much lower than we usually see in June.

Winter is the slowest time in Union County Real Estate. Not only do homes take longer than average to sell in the winter, they also sell for less in the winter than they do the rest of the year.
But don’t think for even one moment that Rahway’s real estate market is dead in the winter!
This winter, Rahway had 190 active listings and 36 sold listings. The average sale price this winter was $211,662 with the average home selling after 125 days.

Since the beginning of January I've seen this cab driving around in Clark, Linden and Rahway. Does the driver have a sense of humor? Is he trying to tell us all something? Why is there a surfer on top of the cab?
Since I see this cab so often, I have to tell you, it makes me smile every time. I guess it's the thought that riding a wave beats working any day. Or maybe the message is something very different.

The length of time it takes to sell your Union County home is dependent on several factors, the most important of which are:
Location Condition Upgrades Marketing The average Union County home that was sold in 2014 was sold after 66.6 days with the range in Days on Market from 50 days (Cranford) to 105 days (Linden). Among the fastest towns were Fanwood with 51 days, Westfield with 53 days, and Garwood with 54 days. Among the slowest towns were Union with 96 days and Rahway at 85 days.

With the new year comes new data, and one of the most compelling numbers we've crunched this week has been the change in prices from 2012 to 2014.
County-wide, the average home in Union County sold for 3.9% more in 2014 than the average home in 2012. Not every town, however, saw an increase and some towns were bigger winners than others. Garwood is the biggest winner over the past 2 years - the average sale price of a home in Garwood increased by 40% from 2012 to 2014. Also on the winner's board was Clark with a 16.3% increase.
