scotch plains: Projections are that MORE homes will sell in the near future - 12/10/14 11:17 PM
Recent reports have shown that the Real Estate Market is getting healthier.  In fact, throughout the country prices are appreciating at normal levels in most markets.
This week a projection showing the total home sales from three different sources through 2016 was published.  All three are predicting more home sales (both existing and new construction.)
Three industry leaders were polled.  Economists from the National Association of Realtors (NAR), Freddie Mac and the Mortgage Brokers Association (MBA) gave their projections.
The chart to the left illustrates the projetions.
Looks like the next couple of years will be busy!!

scotch plains: Tree Lighting at the Frazee House Friday 12/5 at 6pm - 12/04/14 12:46 AM
The historic Frazee House in Scotch Plains will hold a Tree Lighting Friday evening at 6pm.  The Frazee is house is one of the oldest landmarks in Union County and the story of Aunt Betty Frazee is delightful!  The event is FREE!  Refreshments will be served.  Parking is limited.
The legend occurs during the battle of Short Hills on June 26, 1777.  During the battle British General Cornwallis came upon the Frazee house and smelled the bread that Aunt Betty was baking for the American troops.  Cornwallis requested a loaf of bread from her.  She gave him a loaf stating: "I … (3 comments)

scotch plains: Dictionary Day comes to Fanwood-Scotch Plains! - 11/19/14 12:48 AM
Today was easy to come up with something for #50YearsOfJean.  For the third year in a row I participated in the annual Rotary Dictionary Day event with the Fanwood-Scotch Plains Rotary Club.
We send teams of 4 or 5 Rotarians to each elementary school in the district where we gave every third grader their own dictionary. The kids absolutely love it when they realize that they get to keep the books. My group went to Coles School where we had four classes of kids come to the gymnasium to get their dictionaries.  We told them a little bit about what … (2 comments)
