photos: More fun with HDR

HDR is a photo processing Technique, also called HDRI, for High dynamic range imagining. Three or more photos, each with a different exposure value, are combined into one photo. The process brings out details that don't show up in a single photo. I use photomatix to process the photos. All of the photos were taken with a camera.

Sometimes I just have too much fun. Lofts are fun to photograph. They have huge windows and a lot of light. I like to take my property shots using natural light. I warm up the photo or cool it down by adjusting the temperature when I process it.
It is possible to take a small loft and get ten or more photos of it. The trick is to mentally divide it into seperate spaces. Maybe there is a desk in the corner so I will shoot it seperatly and just show the area around the desk. For this … (5 comments)

I am not a photographer. I think I can write everything I know on the subject in a few short paragraphs. The pictures I have on my blogs are the most popular feature, or at least what is commented on the most by other bloggers and by people who are looking for information about real estate or about my market area. I use several of what I call companion programs with the St. Paul Real Estate Blog. My blog has a lot of photos on it because I want people to see St. Paul and a photo is worth a thousand words, besides if I use more pictures I can write less. Picture posts with a few words can generate numerous comments and some interesting discussion. I recently received a note from one of my readers saying he was "moved" by a photo he found on my blog. Are black and white photos allowed? I sure hope so. I used to take pictures for a newspaper and they were black and whites. over the years black and white film got harder and harder to come by and people would give me a dumb look when I wanted to get it developed. I never used a digital camera before for black and whites and it just isn't the same but with a little practice it can be done.
