Stowe, Vermont Area Home Sale Market Report - 2023 compared to 2022Another year is in the books for real estate sales in the Stowe, Vermont area. Overall, 2023 saw a decrease in the number of homes sold, an increase in median and average sale prices, and a decrease in inventory. Below is chart that shows this trend for the State of Vermont, Stowe, Waterbury, Morristown, Hyde Park, Elmore, Johnson and Wolcott - with a few exceptions in Johnson and Wolcott (active listings increased). Vermont - Stowe Area Home Sales Market Report - 2019 compared to 2018 Another year is history so it's time for my annual Stowe, Vermont Area home sales market report. Overall, the number of homes sold was higher; however, in areas where that was not the case, the decrease in sales was most likely due to lack of inventory. Each town had positive signs and negative signs. Waterbury, Vermont had the best report with increased number of sales, increased sale prices along with a reduction in inventory. Most of the homes in Stowe are spread out - which makes it difficult to engage in the Trick-or-Treat ritual we all grew up with. However, I feel that the number has increased and will continue to increase in the next few years. Stowe Vermont - Hot Air Balloon Festival We have lived in Stowe since 1987 and I have never officially attended the Hot Air Balloon Festival held every July in Stowe, Vermont. It's easy enough to see the balloons as you drive around but I have never paid to be in the "show" area. This year, my son and I decided to really see it. Oh The Weather Outside is Frightful - Winter Driving in Vermont Winter may have been delayed in Vermont, but it has come with an attitude! Today, we had our first Severe Winter Storm of the season. I know many other areas of the U.S. were hit, too. Stowe seldom closes the schools because of snow, but they did today. Good call in my opinion. Of course, I wish we had known earlier about the closing. Stowe, Vermont - Stowe Mountain Resort just announced that it will open on Saturday, November 21st, 2009. The resort has lots of snow making capacity, so hopefully there will be a good selection of trails to ski. Maybe Mother Nature will cooperate too!
