Spring is just around the corner but the recent weather reports and our aching, shoveling-afflicted backs continue to let us know that our Minnesota’s winter weather will continue to be here for awhile. Yesterday I shared a few of the amazing deals on lakeshore homes I saw listed in Anoka County. It seems that whenever I search the MLS in the north Twin Cities metro, I find some incredible deal on lakeshore. After years where lake homes were priced out of reach of the average homebuyer, now they are amazingly affordable. Every time I check on lakeshore pricing in the north Twin Cities metro, I am nothing short of amazed. Prices on lakeshore are amazingly affordable. I know that the media has been touting the real estate comeback for several weeks now, Yes some homes in some areas are starting to sell again. Yet, lakeshore properties are not flying off the MLS like other homes. Forest Lake, Minnesota is well known throughout the Twin Cities area. Are Minnesota lakeshore owners hoping the real estate market has turned a corner? Maybe. I spotted an unusual trend this past July. Lakeshore homes, that traditionally list as soon as the the frozen lakeshore shows signs of spring, were being listed mid-summer and now into August. And they are not just the usual handful of sellers that just couldn't get ready in time for the spring market. There were several lake properties listed in Anoka County after July 1st this year. These are not "cancel and relist as new" homes...You know the ones that just give you the feeling of deja'vu … (2 comments)

Or is it just a mid-summer night's dream for lakeshore owners?I noticed an interesting phenomenon in early July that is continuing into August. Lakeshore homes that traditionally list as soon as the ice drops in April were being listed after Independence Day in July.
