buying lakeshore: Deals on Washington County MN Lakeshore WILL Continue into Fall! - 09/28/12 06:19 AM
Yesterday I shared a few of the amazing deals on lakeshore homes I saw listed in Anoka County. It seems that whenever I search the MLS in the north Twin Cities metro, I find some incredible deal on lakeshore. After years where lake homes were priced out of reach of the average homebuyer, now they are amazingly affordable. Our local and national news outlets have been talking about the comeback in the housing market over the past few weeks. And, there are some homes in some areas are starting to sell again. Yet, lakeshore properties are not flying off the proverbial … (3 comments)

buying lakeshore: Is Two—O—One—O a Dyslexic Zip for Beverly Hills? No...It's an Opportunity to Change Yours! - 01/04/10 12:34 AM

A local television station raised an interesting question. Should the New Year be pronounced "twenty-ten", "two thousand and ten" or "Two-O-One-O". Frankly, the latter struck me as a dyslexic pronunciation of an eighties TV show revolving around a Beverly Hills zip code. But no matter how you say it, 2010 will be a fantastic year for a person to change their zip code...At least it will be in Minnesota. Here are a few of the reasons 2010 should be a great year to make your move to a Minnesota home:
Affordability-In Minnesota, homeowners get more bang for their buck. The affordability … (12 comments)

buying lakeshore: Think Now is a GREAT Time to Make a DEAL on a MN Lakeshore Home? It IS! - 09/11/08 10:00 AM
As recently as five years ago, the prices on Minnesota lakeshore were out of reach for many buyers. Prices shot up in the late 1990's. Lake lots on Coon Lake in Anoka County that went on the market in 1998 for $60,000 were re-sold three years later for over three times that at $200,000. Homes on lakeshore saw similar increases. At the time, there didn't seem to be an end in sight to what someone would pay for lakeshore in the Twin Cities. Well times have certainly changed.A couple of years ago, "The Buyer's Market" hit the Twin Cities and communities … (16 comments)

buying lakeshore: Buying a Home on Minnesota Lakeshore—Is the Water Really Safe? - 06/08/08 03:13 AM
Owning a lakeshore home is a dream of many Minnesota residents. Living in the Land of 10,000 Lakes, one would be hard pressed not to drive by a lake, pond or river on a daily basis no matter if you are in Anoka, Ramsey, Chisago, Washington, Hennepin or any other county in our great state. Almost every day on the news there is something happening on or in one of our wonderfully wet natural resources. Some of the news is not always so great: Eurasian milfoil, mercury in the fish and polluted waters are a concern. Even those who live in … (21 comments)
