While the number of closed sales was up, the average sales price was down significantly for homes in the East Bethel community in 2008 compared to statistics in 2007. Like in other areas, new listings were down too. At under 88%, the ratio comparing sold price to list price it is one of the lowest in the north and east metro communities I work in. Days on the market is also significantly longer as it took almost 6 weeks longer for an East Bethel home to sell in 2008 than in 2007.

Attention East Bethel, Ham Lake and Wyoming residents interested in the Hwy 65/Cty 22 intersection development! The Community of East Bethel adopted the comprehensive plan in August 2007 that was submitted to the Met Council. Included in the plan is a city sewer and water proposal centered on the development of a town center at Hwy 65 and Viking Blvd. (County 22). Now the real work is beginning! I try to avoid driving on Hwy 65 when showing houses in Anoka County. The backroads throughout Ham Lake, Linwood, Blaine and East Bethel are more picturesque. But a shortcut to our favorite movie theater in East Bethel from our Ham Lake home has my family driving down a short stretch of the Hwy 65 service road quite often. About two months ago, we noticed a enormous log standing straight up toward the sky and surrounded by scaffolding. New homeowner in Ham Lake, Minnesota? You have a septic system. The City of Ham Lake does not have a city sewage system. All homeowners have private sewer systems that must be maintained properly. In fact there are many other communities through out Anoka County where septic systems are the norm.
