Like a transformer in slow motion, the new Forest Lake water tower began to take on its final shape this past week. The construction process is quite a sight to see! Piece by piece concave metal is lifted into place and welded to the base, creating the "bowl". This past spring the original old "tin-man" type water tower was removed from its place along Lake St. The new tower is located near the compost site just off of Broadway.

Real estate in Forest Lake, MN in north Washington County and east Anoka County is selling-though admittedly at a slower pace than most sellers would like. The third quarter numbers show area homes are staying on the market an average of 171 days. Looking at current inventory levels and the rate of sales for homes priced under $300,000, there is about 7-8 months of inventory as it stands today.

The fallen acorns have attracted white-tailed deer as they feast in our Ham Lake backyard. Bright, yellow buses are wisking kids off daily to schools in the Forest Lake, Centennial, Anoka Hennepin school districts daily. As soon as the final About a Foot Long Hotdog and Sweet Martha's Cookie is sold at the Minnesota State Fair and the final blue ribbon awarded, the school bells ring and new opportunities begin.
