One of my family's favorite places to visit on a trip to Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida is the Animation Building in Disney’s Hollywood Studios There is a spot after the animation tour where a couple dozen would-be illustrators can go for a half hour class with a Disney artist. The class gives step-by-step directions on how to draw a beloved Disney Character. It the past we have had the chance to draw Mickey , Goofy, Pluto, Stitch and even Jack Skellington and Scrooge McDuck. St Patrick's Day Events St. Paul Minneapolis March 17th an official holiday is a semi-official holiday in Minnesota! Growing up as a Irish-woman in the Minneapolis/St. Paul area made St. Patrick's Day a fun event. (Okay...I'm only a quarter Irish but on St. Pat's day, whose counting?) Even in a cage, a wild animal can be beautiful. Como Park is one of our favorite family places to visit and take photos. I have done this since I was 17 and a freshman at Hamline University. For fun, I would ride my bike a few miles over to Como Park Zoo and take photos of the animals. There are more fences rules about feeding the animals than when I started taking pictures. About a decade ago now, some close friends built a new home in an Oakdale development. Our own home was just on the other side of Silver Lake in North St. Paul so we drove through the development several times during the construction. We monitored the new community as the first dozen or so homes were constructed in the new neighborhood. This development didn’t have extremely restrictive covenants regarding the exterior of the home. The resulting neighborhood was very eclectic with assorted styles of homes. The Minneapolis Area Association of REALTORS® released the April monthly skinny video earlier this week. From the information provided it appears that the expiring tax credit and spring weather did impact buyers in the Twin Cities market. Over 5000 purchase agreements were written and accepted during the last month. And the sellers on the receiving end of those purchase agreements were mostly traditional sellers and short sale properties. There was a 76% increase in short sale purchase agreements and a 55% increase in traditional seller purchase agreements. The Minneapolis Area Association of REALTORS® just released the March monthly skinny video a few days ago. From the information provided it appears that snowy weather didn't slow down the home buyers in the Twin Cities market. Over 3500 purchase agreements were written during the last month. And which sellers were on the receiving end of those purchase agreements? Traditional sellers at lower price points (as opposed to lender-mediated or bank-owned properties). Years ago, my sister and her husband built a new home in an Oakdale development. We lived in a mile away in North St. Paul at the time so we drove by often and watched as several homes were constructed in the neighborhood. The Animation Building in Disney's Hollywood Studios is my family's favorite places during our bi-annual treks to Orlando. (Okay I still call this park what is now known as MGM Studios, but that is just me.) There is a spot after the animation tour where you (and 30 or so other would-be illustrators) can go for a half hour class with a Disney artist and be given step-by-step instructions on how to draw Mickey , Goofy, Pluto, Stitch or another beloved character. No doubt there are many homeowners who would love to make a change to a different home but the current status of the real estate market has caused them to reconsider a move and opt for a remodel.
