subzero temperatures: Walking a Dog When it's 20 Below--Visit Rosedale! - 01/27/19 03:59 PM
For the past few years or so, my household has been cat friendly and canine free. However, this winter we have a guest in our Ham Lake acreage home. Spencer is a St Paul resident who's normal life includes daily doggie daycare, keeping the bunnies out of his fenced backyard and sharing the sidewalks daily with his canine friends. Spending weeks in Anoka County without neighbor dogs to hang with has been boring. The squirrels and white-tailed deer that frequent our backyard are fun to watch from the window but when Spencer goes out, only the tracks in the snow remain.

subzero temperatures: Teri and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Minus 30 Degree Minnesota Winter Day - 01/15/09 12:54 AM
In Minnesota today we are experiencing a once (or twice) a decade pipe-freezing, cold snap....or should I say Arctic Blast? I know that half of the US is feeling a bit chilly this morning as that terrible, evil jet stream from the Arctic swooped way down to Florida. But frankly I have no sympathy for someone suffering in 30 degree temperatures when ours are 30 degrees in the other direction.
There is no other way to describe sub zero, bone-chilling weather...30 degrees below zero weather is NASTY with a capital N! The wind freezes the skin in a matter of seconds. … (70 comments)
