Bank of America recently announced a nationwide program offering up to $30,000 in relocation assistance for short sales. Adding to its foreclosure prevention initiatives, this program offers delinquent customers increased assistance with relocation expenses at the completion of a qualifying short sale.

Approved home owners could receive from $2,500 and $30,000. ~  Just last week an agent in my Ferrari-Lund Real Estate office closed a short sale transaction and his client received $10,000 in relocation fees. This is such exciting news for home owners faced with a possible short sale and are faced with relocating to another area.

I recently closed a Reno, Nevada short sale and the bank waived all future deficiencies against seller. I was the listing agent for this single family home located in the Cold Springs area North of downtown Reno. The seller was a single, young individual who was approved for a $380,000 loan back in 2006. Because  her second job ended and her income decreased, she was no longer able to afford her monthly mortgage payments on her own.

This program is new to me so I wanted to find out if anyone has either had a client participate in this "cooperative short sale program or if anyone has at least heard of it.

Earlier today I received a call from Bank of America saying they had "really great news" regarding one of the properties I have in set up in  their equator system. The customer service rep said they have a new exciting program that my client, the seller, qualifies for.
