Don't just throw your Christmas Tree away, recycle it. It's not too late!!
Northern Nevada's annual Christmas Tree Recycling program, sponsored by Keep Truckee Meadows Beautiful (KTMB), has been recycling trees since 2003. Nearly 130,000 trees have been recycled through this program with the help of many volunteers and local sponsors.
How much does it cost to drop off my Crhistmas Tree?
To help fund this project and other projects throughout the year, KTMB requests a donation of $3.00 per tree is requested.

Macy's Community Shopping Day is an easy way for local non-profit organizations raise money for their communities. Macy's provides shopping passes for the charitable agencies to sell at a cost of $10 each. All the money from sold tickets is kept by the agency selling the tickets, 100% of the proceeds goes back to our local community.

Mark your calenders for the opening of "The Rink On The River!" This Wednesday, November 26, 2008 the outdoor ice skating rink in Downtown Reno will be open to the public following the 5p.m. Holiday Tree Lighting Celebration.
For the last several years my family and I have enjoyed skating at this outdoor rink which always starts its season off with a free skate session for everyone the evening before Thanksgiving. The only requirement is that you bring a warm clothing donation that will be picked up by the Salvation Army.

Drew Simpson graduated from Reno High School in June 2007. He helped lead the Reno High Baseball Team to the state playoffs in 2007. He was also on the first Reno Blue Devil's traveling baseball team coached by Lyle Walters. My son, Alec, is on the Blue Devil's 12 and under baseball team.

Name That Team Contest!
Reno's new Triple-A baseball team has unveiled a contest to name the new team!
The new ballpark is scheduled to open in April, 2009. The park will provide seating for 10,000 people and will offer a picnic area and a children's play area. A great place for the entire family.
