reno nevada: ~The Ultimate Rush ~ The Ultimate Birthday Present~
- 01/04/09 02:22 PM
"The Ultimate Rush" turns out to be "The Ultimate Birthday Present!" I am still amazed that Alec and Kenna turned 12 on December 30, 2008. Alec and Kenna are my only two children. Next year they will start middle school. They are defiantly growing up. A few years back I decided they were getting old enough and they did not need to have a "birthday party" every year. This year was their off year which meant they had to celebrate their birthday with their parents! We celebrated by going to "The Outback Steak House," their choice, of course. Before we went to dinner they said they

- 11/28/08 06:20 AM
It was cold, dark and raining but that didn't stop the lighting of the 65-foot-tall giant sequoia during the ceremony that took place Wednesday, November 26, 2008 in downtown Reno. The lighting of the tree kicks off the 2008 holiday season! Bad weather did prevent the opening of the "Rink on the River" that was scheduled to take place after the tree lighting. With inches of water on the rink it was impossible to skate on. Luckily, the rain has passed and the Rink is now open! The outdoor ice skating rink is located at 10 N. Virginia Street in downtown Reno. For hours of

reno nevada: ~Dish Cafe And Catering~Reno, Nevada~89502
- 11/05/08 12:29 PM
Today, a great friend introduced me to the Dish Cafe! It is a quaint little diner located at 855 Mill Street in Reno, Nevada, 89502! The Cafe, according to its owner, Nancy Horn, uses nothing but fresh, organic ingredients in her dishes for dine in, take out and custom catering. Nancy started making "Cup Cakes" while staying home with her children. She sold them at bake sales, baked them for birthday parties, church functions and soon ventured out and started "DISH" in 2002. According to her friends, Nancy has a "knack" for baking and has found her "niche" in the Reno market for catering. The Dish
