It doesn't feel like Spring and it sure doesn't look like Spring here in Northern Nevada but this weekend is the launch of Daylight Saving Time so we must be getting close to Spring Time!
If it had not been for Annie Grogan, assistant Vice President at Fidelity Home Warranty, Reno's favorite Home Warranty gal, sending emails reminding us of the time change, I might have completely forgotten.

Physicians' Spouses hold 60th Rummage Sale on Saturday, March 5, 2011 in Reno, Nevada
This event, now in its 60th year, will raise money for nursing scholarships and nonprofit grants. Last year, the sale raised $58,000.
The event starts at 8:00a.m but Reno residents will start lining up at 4:00 in the morning. It is truly one of Reno's most popular, fun shopping events each year.
Items are mostly secondhand that include books, furniture, household items, men's clothing, sportswear, toys, women's clothing, jewelry, sun glasses and more!

Good News ~ Northern Nevadans now have three assigned water days!
If you rent or own your home in Northern Nevada, or are a business owner, you know the Truckee Meadows community is on a water restriction and have assigned days to water our lawns. This year residences and businesses now have three days to water. The Truckee Meadows Water Authority said that because we have met our community conservation agreement to meter the water system, they are now able to offer customers the flexibility of watering up to three assigned days per week.

Spanish Springs Cal Ripken Baseball
The Cal Ripken Major Division Astros are crowned champs! The Astros defeated the Dodgers 11-4 to capture the season ending tournament title.
In the double elimination tournament, the Astros were undefeated at 4 -0 outscoring their opponents 64-19. The Astros pitcher, Alec Leighton threw four scoreless innings in the championships game to lead his team to victory.
Congratulations to all the boys, and Brandi, our awesome first base girl, and to the coaches who worked so hard to help win this title.
