This is a report of the Alabama area of Fort Benning which includes Fort Mitchell, Seale, Phenix City and Smiths. In August a total of 83 homes were sold with a median price of $149,000. A total of 199 new listings were taken by area Realtors giving a new inventory amount of 898 available homes for sale. The average days on market for the homes sold was 122.

Total Homes Sold: May-91 April-98 Average Days on Market: May-127 April-162 Average Sold Price: May-$151k April-$144 New Listings Taken: May-198 April-231 Total Sold Volume: May-$13.7 mil April-$14.1 mil

Total homes sold in this area: 1167 Total days on market: 128 Median home price: $153,000 Number of new listings taken: 2234 Total sold dollar volume: $178 million Of all financing obtained, VA was the most popular with 50% more than FHA. This is due to the enormous increase in homes being built in Fort Mitchell. Fort Benning area Sales and Listings September 2009
Sales in the area took a little dip last month to a total of 80. The average sales price was $148,631 with an average days on market of 105. There were 224 new listings taken. The method of financing held strong with VA being the most popular with over half the sales. We are still seeing this increase due to the relocation of troops to Fort Benning with BRAC (base relocation and closings) in full force.

Unbelievably, August sales were exactly the same as July's with 109 homes sold at a median price of $146,000. The average days on market was 128. One can see that the military troops are making a huge impact on the area with BRAC (Base Realignment and Closings) underway. VA led the way in financing with over half the market share of sold property. There were 248 new listings taken for a total of 1363 in the towns of Ft. Mitchell, Smiths, Phenix City and Seale. Ft.
